SUMMARY:International Partnering Forum (24-26 August)*
DESCRIPTION:Details\nThe International Partnering Forum (IPF) is the largest offshore wind conference in the Western hemisphere. IPF is where the offshore wind industry comes together to receive breaking news\, gain technical knowledge\, and engage in networking opportunities with industry colleagues and decision makers. The IPF is organized by the Business Network for Offshore Wind (BNOW)\, a non profit organization solely focused on the development of the U.S. offshore wind industry and advancement of its supply chain. \nWith the current state of affairs in offshore wind in the U.S.\, the project pipeline and the release of the final environmental impact statement for Vineyard Wind\, which is a big success for the further developments of Vineyard Wind\, the time is right to capitalize on business opportunities in the U.S. \nTraveling to the U.S.\nIf you aren’t based in the U.S.\, it’s required to apply for a so-called National Interest Exception (NIE)\, in order for you to travel to the U.S. Without a NIE\, you can’t enter the U.S.\nFor more information and how to apply for this NIE\, please check the website of the U.S. Embassy in the Netherlands here.\nThere’s no guarantee this NIE will be granted to you\, that’s of course up to the U.S Embassy in the Netherlands. \nApplications can take up to 15-30 working days\, so make sure to start your application soon if you are planning to visit the IPF.\nIn case you need documents from the U.S. to support your application (e.g. invitation letter from BNOW)\, please let us know what you need and we will take care of that together with our local partners. \nPresident Biden’s administration is working on lifting the COVID-19 restrictions posed on EU citizens\, but it’s premature to put a date on any such move\, according to the Administration\, which means we don’t know if this will happen before the IPF will take place. \nIPF Virtual & Together\nThe IPF 2021 is being held in two parts: virtual and in-person. \n– IPF Virtual: April 22\, May 13\, and June 17;\n– IPF Together: August 24-26 in Richmond\, Virginia. \nBy splitting the vast amount of educational content and in-person networking into two segments\, the IPF can provide you with the technical and policy information you need and allow for more dedicated time for relationship building at the in-person event. \nSince most of the COVID-19 measures are lifted in Virginia\, there’s no limit on the amount of visitors at the IPF Together. \nNL Netherlands Lounge Package\nHolland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE) will organize a NL Netherlands Lounge at the IPF 2021 Together. SUMMARY:WEBINAR: USA + NL Offshore Wind Connect: Ports and Supply Chain
DESCRIPTION:Ports are the hubs of supply chains\, both for today’s global trade as well as for offshore wind and ocean energy in the future. There is no question that ports will prosper in the transition to renewable ocean energy. All ports are not equal\, however. Some thrive in the fossil fuel economy of the past 150 years and may or may not pivot to renewables. At the same time\, many others have not thrived and are looking towards a more sustainable future by serving the offshore wind and ocean energy sectors. Some of the biggest questions are what economy will the new ports be built for? What upland infrastructure and ecology do they tap into? What supply chains will they specialize in? Where will the jobs be? To plan for a sustainable future\, ports need to create and support a clean energy industrial sector. \nFortunately\, the offshore wind experience in the NL provides several relevant examples of port revitalization. NL panelists will describe experiences at very large as well as relatively small ports\, showing over time how the human ecosystems in offshore wind and the energy transition are changing the mixes in land use\, employment\, water dependent activities and larger supply chains. Panelists from the US will discuss plans for port revitalization\, local content requirements\, opportunities and barriers\, and port readiness. \nThis program is co-hosted and co-organized by the Clean Energy States Alliance (CESA)\, the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE). Confirmed speakers include representatives from: Groningen Seaports\, Royal HaskoningDHV\, and Bow Terminal in the Netherlands and State of Virginia\, New Jersey Economic Development Agency\, and NYSERDA. \nThe Webinar will take place on October 21\, 2021\, from 03:00 – 16:30pm CEST. \nRegister via Eventbrite here to join the conversation!

SUMMARY:Wind Expo Tokyo 2022
DESCRIPTION:Tickets are sold out at the moment\, but please contact Eline Timmer (contact details below) if you are interested to join. We are currently looking into the possibilities of expanding the Netherlands Lounge.\nDespite the COVID-19 pandemic\, offshore wind developments in Japan are going strong. With the Japan Wind Power Association (JWPA) predicting 6GW of wind farms with fixed turbines and 4GW of floating wind farms with will be operational by 2030\, Japan offers enormous opportunities for Dutch offshore wind companies. \nIn Japan\, the Netherlands is recognized as a reliable partner for offshore wind cooperation. Since 2014\, Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE)\, supported by the Dutch government\, has built up a widespread network within the Japanese offshore wind industry at many levels. Some Dutch companies already secured contracts\, for example with regard to vessel design & installation equipment. SUMMARY:Virtual offshore wind mission China
DESCRIPTION:Are you active in the offshore wind business and want to know more about the opportunities and possibilities in the country with the largest offshore wind capacity in the world? Consider joining the digital offshore wind mission to China!  \nWhy participate?\nChina is investing heavily in the gy transition. At provincial level\, plans are being made to expand the entire coastline with extra offshore wind capacity. For example\, the local governments in Jiangsu and Guangdong aim to have more than 30GW of capacity operational by 2030. In addition\, the northern provinces of Shandong and Liaoning are also developing plans for offshore wind deployment.   \n\nGain insight into the opportunities for Dutch companies in the Chinese offshore wind market; \nExpand your network with relevant parties for collaboration and business;\nDiscover your opportunities to contribute to and benefit from this fast-growing industry in China.\n\n\nOpportunities for Dutch companies \nInvesting in high-tech is becoming more and more interesting for Chinese developers. From this year onwards\, no national subsidies will be provided anymore to build offshore wind farms. Without national subsidies\, it is difficult for developers and investors to establish a robust business case based on the current APEX and OPEX estimations. In the new subsidy-free era\, projects will have to be developed more efficiently\, and with higher quality. As a result\, the demand for innovative solutions is expected to increase in the coming years.   \nThe main opportunities in the offshore wind sector in China are:  \n\nIncreasing efficiency and improving quality in the installation of offshore wind farms; \nIncreasing efficiency in operations & maintenance (O&M); \nAlternative foundation techniques\, such as suction pile foundations\, gravity-based foundations and floating wind; \nKnowledge and technology to the OEM wind turbine manufacturers in China.  \n\nProgram\nThis mission will take place virtually. Dutch companies with representation in China can physically participate in some program components that will be organized on the second day of the program.   \nThe program consists of two half days. The first part of the day is a joint kick-off (with the two other tracks: circular economy and fresh logistics) under the leadership of Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Liesje Schreinemacher.   \nThe second half of the day focuses on introducing the Chinese and Dutch offshore wind players. In an open session\, Dutch and Chinese participants can take the stage to introduce themselves. Focus will be on the opportunities and challenges in the sector\, both in China and the Netherlands. After the plenary session\, there is opportunity for business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking.   \nMore information and registration\nParticipation is only open to Dutch (affiliated) companies. Participation fee will be €250\,00 per person.  \nFor more information and a comprehensive factsheet about the Chinese offshore wind market\, please take a look at the B2Match website here.  \nPlease check the RVO event page here for more information and registration. \nDeadline for registration for participation with matchmaking: March 30\, 2022. After this deadline companies can only sign up without matchmaking (Webinar(s) only).

SUMMARY:Offshore Wind Trade Mission Poland
DESCRIPTION:Are you active in the offshore wind energy sector? And do you want to do business with Poland and expand your network? Consider taking part in this trade mission to Poland from June 13 to 15\, 2022! \nThis mission is the perfect opportunity to broaden your network in the region and deepen your knowledge of the Polish market. In addition\, you can explore new business opportunities in Poland.\nNote: this trade mission has a COVID-19 clause. \nOpportunities in Poland\nPoland is still heavily dependent on coal and needs to take immediate action to meet the energy transition ambitions. This means that the production of renewable energy must increase significantly. \nThe development of wind energy in the Baltic Sea is one of the best ways for Poland to achieve this energy transition. Poland aims to develop almost 6GW of offshore wind energy capacity by 2030. By 2040\, that should be about 11GW. According to experts\, the capacity can even further increase to 28GW. \nTenders have been launched for various offshore wind projects. Plans are being made for other projects and collaborations are being set up. This is the momentum for Dutch companies to strenghten their network and present themselves in Poland for participation in these projects.\nPoland is in serious need of foreign knowledge and expertise in the field of offshore wind energy to reach her ambitions. A lot of effort is being put into developing value chains in this sector. Many players want to collaborate with parties from leading countries such as the Netherlands. With previous trade missions and events in Poland\, Polish companies and organizations have shown a clear interest in Dutch knowledge and expertise. \nFor whom?\nParticipation in this mission is open to companies and knowledge institutions in the offshore wind energy with focus on: \n\noffshore installation & transport\nmaintence;\nengineering;\nport infrastructure & logistics;\nEcology;\nTraining & education; and\nother suppliers and service providers.\n\nPreliminary program\nThe program consists of the following components: \n\nparticipation in the PWEA 2022 Conference from June 13-15\, 2022;\nknowledge sessions\, including a presentation of the  market survey for Dutch companies\, which is updated especially for this mission;\nnetworking events;\nindividual matchmaking: tailor-made network conversations; and\nintroduction and round table with influential players and decision makers.\n\nParticipation and costs\nSign up for this trade mission via the b2 Match platform here. Deadline for registration: May 2\, 2022. \nA maximum of 30 companies/organizations can participate in the mission\, with max. 1 person per organization. In case the registration period will be extended\, there is no guarantee you will still be able to participate in the individual matchmaking. \nParticipation costs: €950\,00 per organization. \nThe service package includes: \n\nall components mentioned above under preliminary program;\nlocal support by the organization of the  mission;\nlocal transport.\n\nTravel and accommodation costs are at own expense. \nParticipation in this mission is only open to Dutch companies and knowledge institutions that fit into substantive focus of the trade mission. Registration does not automatically mean you are accepted as participant in the mission. You will receive a final confirmation of your participation afterf the registration period has closed. \nOrganizers\nThis mission is organized by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO)\, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs\, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate\, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Warschau and the Netherlands Wind Energy Association (NWEA). \nMore information\nFor more information about this mission\, please reach out directly to Hanneke Bogaerts or Margriet Veenstra from RVO.
