SUMMARY:Webinar Japan & the Netherlands – Offshore Wind Tenders & Implications for the Supply Chain
DESCRIPTION:The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Japan\, Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE)\, and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) are organizing in close collaboration with the Japan Wind Power Association a Webinar on the Offshore Wind Tenders and its implications for the Supply Chain on March 15\, from 08:30 – 10:00 CET | 16:30 – 18:00 JST.  \nThis Webinar takes place as part of the Smart Energy Week March 2022 edition. Fourteen Dutch companies present themselves in the Netherlands Pavilion at the “Wind Expo Tokyo”. During the Webinar\, 14 Dutch companies present technologies that are suitable to the Japanese needs. \nOffshore Wind in The Netherlands & Japan\nThe Netherlands has big ambitions regarding offshore wind energy as a renewable energy source\, and so has Japan. The Dutch government has recently announced a plan to realize in total 27.5GW of offshore wind energy for 2030. The Netherlands has set up a unique bidding system\, in which the government takes the lead in stakeholder management and assessment studies. A transparent tender system is a priority and the government let the market come up with solutions to realize innovations and cost reductions. \nThe Japanese government has similar ambitions for a more carbon neutral society regarding offshore wind energy as a valuable source. In 2021\, the first round of offshore wind tenders was realized and for the next decade 11GW is planned\, and ambitions reach to 47GW 2040. \nIt is time for a comparison between our tender systems and what lessons are there to learn and to be well prepared for the upcoming tenders. \nAlso Dutch companies with presence on the upcoming Wind Expo Tokyo will give short introductions on how they can offer solutions in the development of the local Japanese supply chain. \nKey note speakers\n\nProgram\n\nMore information & Registration\nIf you want to attend this Webinar\, please RSVP by sending an email to: david@hhwe.eu\nAfter registration\, you will receive a confirmation on your email. SUMMARY:Wind Expo Tokyo 2022
DESCRIPTION:Tickets are sold out at the moment\, but please contact Eline Timmer (contact details below) if you are interested to join. We are currently looking into the possibilities of expanding the Netherlands Lounge.\nDespite the COVID-19 pandemic\, offshore wind developments in Japan are going strong. With the Japan Wind Power Association (JWPA) predicting 6GW of wind farms with fixed turbines and 4GW of floating wind farms with will be operational by 2030\, Japan offers enormous opportunities for Dutch offshore wind companies. \nIn Japan\, the Netherlands is recognized as a reliable partner for offshore wind cooperation. Since 2014\, Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE)\, supported by the Dutch government\, has built up a widespread network within the Japanese offshore wind industry at many levels. Some Dutch companies already secured contracts\, for example with regard to vessel design & installation equipment. Given the recent development and future prospects in Japan\, there are many opportunities for Dutch companies that can offer innovative concepts for foundations and installation work. \nTo further explore the opportunities for the Dutch wind sector and generate visibility within the Japanese wind sector\, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Tokyo\, Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE) and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) will set up a Netherlands Lounge at the Wind Expo Tokyo 2022 (WET)\, taking place from 16-18 March\, 2022\, in Tokyo\, Japan. \nNetherlands Lounge @ WET 2022\nWe will set up a Netherlands Lounge\, in which every participant will be introduced individually. SUMMARY:Virtual offshore wind mission China
DESCRIPTION:Are you active in the offshore wind business and want to know more about the opportunities and possibilities in the country with the largest offshore wind capacity in the world? Consider joining the digital offshore wind mission to China!  \nWhy participate?\nChina is investing heavily in the gy transition. At provincial level\, plans are being made to expand the entire coastline with extra offshore wind capacity. For example\, the local governments in Jiangsu and Guangdong aim to have more than 30GW of capacity operational by 2030. In addition\, the northern provinces of Shandong and Liaoning are also developing plans for offshore wind deployment.   \n\nGain insight into the opportunities for Dutch companies in the Chinese offshore wind market; \nExpand your network with relevant parties for collaboration and business;\nDiscover your opportunities to contribute to and benefit from this fast-growing industry in China.\n\n\nOpportunities for Dutch companies \nInvesting in high-tech is becoming more and more interesting for Chinese developers. From this year onwards\, no national subsidies will be provided anymore to build offshore wind farms. Without national subsidies\, it is difficult for developers and investors to establish a robust business case based on the current APEX and OPEX estimations. In the new subsidy-free era\, projects will have to be developed more efficiently\, and with higher quality. As a result\, the demand for innovative solutions is expected to increase in the coming years.   \nThe main opportunities in the offshore wind sector in China are:  \n\nIncreasing efficiency and improving quality in the installation of offshore wind farms; \nIncreasing efficiency in operations & maintenance (O&M); \nAlternative foundation techniques\, such as suction pile foundations\, gravity-based foundations and floating wind; \nKnowledge and technology to the OEM wind turbine manufacturers in China.  \n\nProgram\nThis mission will take place virtually. Dutch companies with representation in China can physically participate in some program components that will be organized on the second day of the program.   \nThe program consists of two half days. The first part of the day is a joint kick-off (with the two other tracks: circular economy and fresh logistics) under the leadership of Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Liesje Schreinemacher.   \nThe second half of the day focuses on introducing the Chinese and Dutch offshore wind players. In an open session\, Dutch and Chinese participants can take the stage to introduce themselves. Focus will be on the opportunities and challenges in the sector\, both in China and the Netherlands. After the plenary session\, there is opportunity for business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking.   \nMore information and registration\nParticipation is only open to Dutch (affiliated) companies. Participation fee will be €250\,00 per person.  \nFor more information and a comprehensive factsheet about the Chinese offshore wind market\, please take a look at the B2Match website here.  \nPlease check the RVO event page here for more information and registration. \nDeadline for registration for participation with matchmaking: March 30\, 2022. After this deadline companies can only sign up without matchmaking (Webinar(s) only).

SUMMARY:China Wind Power 2022
DESCRIPTION:The Chinese wind market\, measured in installed capacity\, today accounts for more than half of the global wind market. In 2020\, 54\,43GW (of which approx. 4GW offshore) were installed\, which is the highest ever. Accumulated installation capacity (by the end of 2020) exceeded 150\,000 units with a capacity of over 290GW\, with a year-on-year increase of 23%. For 12 years in a row\, China has taken the lead\, measured in new installations on the world wind market. This makes China a very interesting and strategically important market. \nChina Wind Power (CWP)\nWith 13 years experience\, CWP has grown into one of the world’s largest and most influential wind energy exhibitions. CWP provides an exchange platform for global wind sector to seek industrial development\, tackle climate change\, and explore solutions for energy transformation. With more than 82\,000 visitors in 2021\, 650 exhibitors and 60\,000+ sqm\, CWP 2021 has reached historical records. \nThe CWP 2022 will be held in Beijing – China International Exhibition Center (new venue) from September 6-8\, 2022. \nNetherlands Lounge\nDue to the current COVID-19 travel restrictions to China and the great uncertainty about the borders opening up in the upcoming period\, Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE) unfortunately had to decide to postpone the organisation of the Netherlands Lounge at least with another year to CWP 2023. \nIf you are interested in China or participating in the Netherlands Lounge next year\, please let us know by sending an email to eline@hhwe.eu.
