SUMMARY:Virtual Offshore Wind Mission Ireland (June 14-18)
DESCRIPTION:Discover opportunities in the Irish offshore wind sector\nAre you interested to enter the Irish offshore wind market or would you like to deepen/expand your network? Consider joining this virtual mission focusing on the current and future developments in the Irish offshore wind sector! \nThanks to an ambitious program of the government and despite the COVID-19 pandemic\, offshore wind developments in Ireland are taking off. The Irish government published a Climate Action Plan (CAP) in 2019 by which it outlined a target to increase the renewable energy prodcution to 70% by 2030. This increase shall comprise at least 1GW of offshore wind by 2025 and 5GW of offshore wind by 2030. Beyond 2030\, assuming sufficient progress in technological developments\, Ireland has\, due to its excellent wind conditions\, immense potential for the development of additional offshore wind. Sustainable Authority of Ireland (SEAI) and the Offshore Renewable Energy Development Plan (OREDP) refer to 12.5GW for fixed and up to 30GW for floating offshore wind\, whereas EirWind forecasts an aggregated installed capacity of offshore wind of 24.9 by 2050. \nIrish companies are currently looking for partners and suppliers for the upcoming projects\, which means there are plenty of business opportunities for Dutch companies. \nVirtual mission\nThe Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Dublin\, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE) will organize a series of events to provide the Dutch sector with knowledge and connections to navigate the Irish market. \nDue to the current COVID-19 restrictions\, the program will entirely take place online and will consist of: \n1. Webinars (topics: offshore wind developments in Ireland and the Netherlands\, bottom-fixed\, floating wind\, and port  development);\n2. Targeted Sessions where developers and/or Tier 1 companies will be able to present themselves to a group of Dutch/Irish  businesses; and\n3. 1-on1 Digital Matchmaking. \nA more detailed program will be published soon and is developed in close coordinator with our Irish partners Enterprise Ireland (EI)\, the Irish Maritime Development Office (IMDO) and Wind Energy Ireland (WEI). \nObjectives of the program are \n1. To facilitate an exchange about the current state of affairs in Ireland and the Netherlands on offshore wind;\n2. Strengthen the relationships on both public and private level\, between Ireland and the Netherlands\, in offshore wind;\n3. Encourage business and collaboration meetings between Irish and Dutch companies and stakeholders; and\n4. Identify trade and investment opportunities (and barriers) for Dutch companies within the Irish offshore wind sector and      for the Irish companies within the Dutch offshore wind sector. \nParticipation Costs\n€250\,00 per Dutch company (max. 2p. per company). Every additional participant within a company can participate against a rate of €125\,00 per person. \nMore information & Registration\nRegistration is now open via the b2match platform here. Deadline for registration is June 11\, 2021.  \nFor more information\, please contact: \nEline Timmer (eline@hhwe.eu / +31 6 51 24 90 79)\nWemmechien Hofman (wemmechien.hofman@minbuza.nl / +353 87 938 3501)

The program will be finetuned based on the areas of interest of the Dutch participants. \nOffshore wind to achieve climate goals\nPoland is still heavily dependent on coal\, but like other EU member states\, there are impressive ambitions to significantly increase the use of renewable energy. One of the best ways to achieve this is by developing offshore wind energy in the Baltic Sea. The rapid development of this sector in Poland offers excellent opportunities for Dutch companies looking to expand their international business. \nUnder the new Offshore Wind Act and Poland’s Energy Policy until 2040\, over the next 10 years\, at least 8GW of wind power will be installed\, possibly increasing further to 28GW by 2050. Poland has allocated more than 10 offshore wind farm projects. Part of it has recently been tendered and awarded to Polish developers cooperating with  leading European developers. With local expertise and supply chain development in the field of offshore wind energyh still at an early stage\, cooperation with foreign parties\, including Dutch companies\, is essential. \nFor whom?\nParticipation in this trade mission is useful for Dutch companies and organisations who want to: \n\nUnderstand the market potential of offshore wind in Poland and their (potential) role in supporting this booming sector;\nBuild up their network with key players in this market;\nProvide expertise to make a valuable (innovative and competitive) contribution to the (pre-)development\, construction\, and  maintenance phase of the planned projects;\nProvide products and/or services in consultancy\, financing\, offshore installation & transport (OWF/grid)\, engineering\, port  infrastructure & logistics\, ecology\, training & education\, and other suppliers and service providers from the offshore wind  sector.\n\nPreliminary program and participant benefits\nThe 3-day mission program is jointly organized by the Netherlands Embassy in Warsaw\, the Netherlands Enterprise agency\, the Netherlands-Polish Chamber of Commerce (NPCC) in Warsaw and the local Polish Wind Energy Association (PWEA)\, together with the Wind & Water Works platform (represented by NWEA). SUMMARY:Webinar Japan & the Netherlands - Gentle Piling & Floating Wind
DESCRIPTION:The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Japan and Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE)\, and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) are organizing in close collaboration with the Japan Wind Power Association a Webinar on Floating Wind and Gentle Piling on September 28\, from 09:00 – 11:30 CEST | 16:00 – 18:30 JST. \nThis Webinar takes place as part of the Smart Energy Week September 2021 edition\, in which HHWE organizes a Netherlands Lounge at the Wind Expo Tokyo. \nProgram | プログラム\n \nBackground Webinar\nJapan announced this summer its sixth Strategic Energy Plan in which a significant increase in renewables will be part of the energy mix\, including offshore wind energy. Japan has commissioned its first tenders for bottom-fixed windfarms and in the next decade more than 10 GW is going to be realized.  For the construction are less invasive technologies developed\, such as gentle piling. In this webinar\, silent foundation technologies for offshore wind farms are introduced. \nJapan is also targeting floating constructions for offshore wind farms. Since the country is surrounded by deep sea\, floating turbines can be installed in deeper waters compared to bottom-fixed turbines. The infrastructure for floating wind is in a starting stage\, but the Japanese government supports more technological research for this via the Green Investment Fund.  The Dutch floating wind supply chain could be a great partner in Japanese market. \nMore information & Registration\nIf you want to attend this Webinar\, please RSVP via the ticket system above. After registration\, you will receive a confirmation on your email. Make sure to download the calender invite below to put the Webinar into your agenda. \nA few days before the start of the Webinar you will receive the link to the Webinar session.\nIn case of any questions\, don’t hesitate to contact Holland Home of Wind Energy (contact details below).

SUMMARY:WEBINAR: USA + NL Offshore Wind Connect: Ports and Supply Chain
DESCRIPTION:Ports are the hubs of supply chains\, both for today’s global trade as well as for offshore wind and ocean energy in the future. There is no question that ports will prosper in the transition to renewable ocean energy. All ports are not equal\, however. Some thrive in the fossil fuel economy of the past 150 years and may or may not pivot to renewables. At the same time\, many others have not thrived and are looking towards a more sustainable future by serving the offshore wind and ocean energy sectors. Some of the biggest questions are what economy will the new ports be built for? What upland infrastructure and ecology do they tap into? What supply chains will they specialize in? Where will the jobs be? To plan for a sustainable future\, ports need to create and support a clean energy industrial sector. \nFortunately\, the offshore wind experience in the NL provides several relevant examples of port revitalization. NL panelists will describe experiences at very large as well as relatively small ports\, showing over time how the human ecosystems in offshore wind and the energy transition are changing the mixes in land use\, employment\, water dependent activities and larger supply chains. Panelists from the US will discuss plans for port revitalization\, local content requirements\, opportunities and barriers\, and port readiness. \nThis program is co-hosted and co-organized by the Clean Energy States Alliance (CESA)\, the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE). Confirmed speakers include representatives from: Groningen Seaports\, Royal HaskoningDHV\, and Bow Terminal in the Netherlands and State of Virginia\, New Jersey Economic Development Agency\, and NYSERDA. \nThe Webinar will take place on October 21\, 2021\, from 03:00 – 16:30pm CEST. \nRegister via Eventbrite here to join the conversation!

SUMMARY:WEBINAR: Private-public partnership for offshore wind in Poland
DESCRIPTION:Join our public private partnership on Offshore Wind Energy in Poland Changes are happening fast in the OWE market in Poland and the date of the launch of the first projects in 2026 in the Baltic Sea is rapidly approaching. To successfully tackle the opportunities in this market\, we are exploring the feasibility of a public private partnership on OWE in Poland and are inviting companies to join. The webinar takes place on 9 February\, 10.00 – 11.30h. \nWhy this webinar?\nOffshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea are the top priority for the Polish energy sector. According to the government’s plans\, offshore installed capacity in 2030 should reach around 5.9 GW\, and in 2040 – 11 GW. McKinsey forecasts that in 2050 this amount may even reach between 28-45 GW. Last year the government and industry signed a wind sector deal as a major incentive to speed up offshore wind development. Tier 1 developers have been selected and important decisions\, such as on the construction and service ports\, have been made. As from this year the developers are building up their supply chain and sign contracts with the subcontractors. This offers a unique chance for the companies from the Netherlands to bring their solutions and knowledge to the Polish market. \nProgram:\n\nIntroduction by Martin van Buuren from the Netherlands Embassy in Warsaw;\nElro van den Burg from the Netherlands Polish Chamber of Commerce will present an overview of the market opportunities and an update of planned developments for 2022 in Poland;\nAstrid den Besten\, Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO)\, will explain the support of the Dutch government by means of the Partners in International Business (PIB) programme\, what the intended next step could be to cash in on the identified opportunities and how you can contribute to this;\nDanielle Veldman from NWEA\, on behalf of the Dutch wind energy platform wind & water works\, will explain the benefits of a multiannual joint approach towards the Polish market.\n\nDates and registration:\n\nDate: Wednesday 9 February\nTime: 10.00 – 11.30\nApplications via: Danielle Veldman danielle.veldman@nwea.nl\nDeadline for applications: 7\n\nOrganisation webinar: The Netherlands Embassy in Warsaw in cooperation with Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO) and wind & water works (represented by Netherlands Wind Energy Association)

The Dutch government has recently announced a plan to realize in total 27.5GW of offshore wind energy for 2030. The Netherlands has set up a unique bidding system\, in which the government takes the lead in stakeholder management and assessment studies. A transparent tender system is a priority and the government let the market come up with solutions to realize innovations and cost reductions. \nThe Japanese government has similar ambitions for a more carbon neutral society regarding offshore wind energy as a valuable source. In 2021\, the first round of offshore wind tenders was realized and for the next decade 11GW is planned\, and ambitions reach to 47GW 2040. \nIt is time for a comparison between our tender systems and what lessons are there to learn and to be well prepared for the upcoming tenders. \nAlso Dutch companies with presence on the upcoming Wind Expo Tokyo will give short introductions on how they can offer solutions in the development of the local Japanese supply chain. \nKey note speakers\n\nProgram\n\nMore information & Registration\nIf you want to attend this Webinar\, please RSVP by sending an email to: david@hhwe.eu\nAfter registration\, you will receive a confirmation on your email. We are currently looking into the possibilities of expanding the Netherlands Lounge.\nDespite the COVID-19 pandemic\, offshore wind developments in Japan are going strong. With the Japan Wind Power Association (JWPA) predicting 6GW of wind farms with fixed turbines and 4GW of floating wind farms with will be operational by 2030\, Japan offers enormous opportunities for Dutch offshore wind companies. \nIn Japan\, the Netherlands is recognized as a reliable partner for offshore wind cooperation. Since 2014\, Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE)\, supported by the Dutch government\, has built up a widespread network within the Japanese offshore wind industry at many levels. Some Dutch companies already secured contracts\, for example with regard to vessel design & installation equipment. Given the recent development and future prospects in Japan\, there are many opportunities for Dutch companies that can offer innovative concepts for foundations and installation work. \nTo further explore the opportunities for the Dutch wind sector and generate visibility within the Japanese wind sector\, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Tokyo\, Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE) and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) will set up a Netherlands Lounge at the Wind Expo Tokyo 2022 (WET)\, taking place from 16-18 March\, 2022\, in Tokyo\, Japan. \nNetherlands Lounge @ WET 2022\nWe will set up a Netherlands Lounge\, in which every participant will be introduced individually.
