A business delegation of Taiwanese offshore wind companies will visit the Netherlands between 11 – 14 June. The mission will be led by representatives from the Taiwan Wind Turbine Industry Association (TWTIA), Industrial Development Bureau (IDB) and CIECA. Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE) and Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) will host this mission.
Taiwan has ambitious plans for offshore wind farm installation and is aiming for at least 4GW by 2030. It is anticipated that offshore wind will create significant economic benefits to the island. The strategy of the IDB of the Ministry of Economic Affairs in Taiwan is to build up a strong local supply chain. To this purpose China Steel Corporation (CSC) and shipbuilder CSBC have launched two local consortia: a Wind Team and a Marine Team.
In particular for marine engineering, offshore wind installation and O&M purposes Taiwan is looking for cooperation with the Netherlands. IDB is looking for cooperation design of wind turbines, blades and components.
TWTIA and CIECA are currently recruiting the companies that will join the mission. This list of Taiwanese offshore wind companies will be announced as soon as possible. The delegation will first visit the Offshore Wind Energy 2017 in London.
Dutch companies can join the delegation at June 14th during the boat tour to Westermeerwind and the network lunch at 11 Beaufort. Costs: €45,00 per person. If you want to join this day, please send an e-mail to Eline Timmer (firstname.lastname@example.org) and you will receive all the information needed.
