SUMMARY:Trade mission sustainable port development Brazil
DESCRIPTION:Are you active in port development? And are you curious about your opportunities in Brazil? Consider taking part in the sustainable port development trade mission to Brazil from March 3-7\, 2024. The trade mission is led by Robert Simons\, deputy mayor and alderman in Rotterdam. \nThe trade mission will visit the largest Latin American exhibition for the logistics sector\, the Intermodal in Sao Paulo. In addition\, the port of Rio Grande will be visited. Furthermore\, this mission offers a unique opportunity to get in touch with interested parties from the port sector. \nPort development in Brazil\nFor the Brazilian economy\, ports are extremely important. Almost all cargo (95%) flows through the Brazilian port system. An annual increase of 5-10% more cargo is expected in the coming years. Ports in Brazil are struggling to keep up with this growth\, especially in logistics. \nAdditionally\, Brazilian ports need to become sustainable\, also to meet the increasing energy demand. The construction of offshore wind farms is an important part of this. A part of the power generated by these wind farms will be used to produce green hydrogen. \nOpportunities for Dutch companies\nBrazil is looking for solutions that can combine these different challenges. The Netherlands has a lot of knowledge and experience in ports\, logistics\, innovation and sustainability.
