Due to the escalation of the COVID-19 worldwide, the fact-finding mission to Ireland will be postponed to another date. The new date will be determined in consultation with the participants.
The Irish government aims to have 70% of its energy generated by renewable sources by 2030, of which 3.5GW by wind energy. there is only one offshore wind farm operational right now, Arklow Bank Wind Park, but there are already plans for a fixed wind farm in the Irish Sea and two floating wind farms in the Celtic Sea. These plans offer several opportunities for Dutch companies, for instance in construction and maintenance, supply, port development and civil infrastructure and engineering.
Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE) organises a Fact-Finding mission to Ireland to identify opportunities for the Dutch offshore wind industry. This mission will take place from 18-19 or 19-20 March 2020 and is supported by the Dutch Embassy in Dublin and the RVO. Based on the suggestions of the participants, the program can include participation in the IWEA Annual Spring Conference 2020 in Dublin or meetings with important stakeholders, associations and the Irish government.
At least 3 or 4 participants are required to proceed with this mission. If you are interested, please let us know as soon as possible. Considering the aim of the mission, participation is free, although participants have to cover their own travel and accommodation costs, and (if applicable) the entrance fee to the IWEA Conference.
