The Japanese government has set ambitious goals: by the end of 2025, they aim to deploy an impressive 6GW of offshore wind capacity, expanding to 30-45GW by 2040, including floating wind farms. This is a bold step towards achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. To realize this vision, Japan recognizes the need for international expertise, creating incredible opportunities for Dutch wind energy companies!

The Netherlands is highly regarded in Japan as reliable and innovative partner in offshore wind energy. Since 2014, Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE), supported by the Dutch government, has built a strong and extensive network within the Japanese wind energy industry. This collaboration has already paved the way for many successes and promises eveen greater potential.

To further explore this exciting opportunities for the Dutch wind sector and enhance visibility in the Japanese market, HHWE, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Tokyo and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), will organize a Netherlands Lounge at the Wind Expo Tokyo 2026. This leading event will take place from March 17 – 19, 2026, in Tokyo, Japan.

Netherlands Pavilion

For the 2026 edition we reserved a floorspace of 250sqm for the Netherlands Pavilion, of which 100sqm will be allocated for the Netherlands Lounge. The rest of the floorspace is for Dutch companies who want to have their own booth and identity, but want to be part of the Netherlands Pavilion. The Netherlands Pavilion is located at a central spot of the Wind Expo Tokyo (WET) exhibition floor.

In the joint Netherlands Lounge, every participant will get individual exposure as well. The Lounge can accommodate up to 24 companies. See photos below for an impression of the Netherlands Lounge at the Wind Expo Tokyo February 2025 edition.

The following services are included:

• fully equipped joint Netherlands booth with customized branding;
• own poster desk for each participating company (poster dimensions 950mm W x 1730mm H), with space for company brochures;
• exposure of company logo within the Lounge design;
• shared TV screen for corporate video (max. 1,5 min.) OR PowerPoint Presentation (max. 6 slides) in the Lounge;
• hosting support on site from HHWE, NL Embassy and interpreters;
• support in arranging individual meetings with Japanese stakeholders;
• hotel and flight recommendation;
• participation in the JP – NL side event, one day prior to the exhibition;
• drinks & snacks in the Lounge (incl. barista for the best coffee!); and
• joint promotion.

Netherlands Pavilion – own booth space

If you want to participate with your own booth, and also be part of the Netherlands Pavilion, you can now book your raw booth space via HHWE! At this moment, we only have two booths spaces available of 16,2sqm each.

The following services are included:

• raw booth space of 16,2sqm (6m x 2,7m);
• exposure of company logo within the Lounge design;
• hosting support;
• support in arranging individual meetings with Japanese stakeholders;
• participation in the NL – JP side event(s);
• your company profile in the (online) exhibitor directory AND the NL mission booklet;
• drinks & snacks in the Lounge (incl. barista for the best coffee!);
• hotel and flight recommendation; and
• joint promotion.

All prices are excl. VAT and travel related expenses. To cover part of the fee, SME’s can apply for a SIB Collective Activity Subsidy via RVO, with a maximum worth of 80% of the participant fee. It’s up to RVO whether to grant the subsidy or not, HHWE is not responsible.
