SUMMARY:Innovation mission floating offshore wind to the South of France
DESCRIPTION:Are you active in the offshore wind industry and does your organisation provide solutions for floating wind farms? Would you like to know what the developments are in the Occitania region (southern France) for floating wind farms? If so\, join the innovation mission ‘floating offshore wind in Occitania from 3 to 6 July 2023. \nWhy Occitania?\nFrance considers the offshore energy sector as an important sector for European strategic autonomy\, cooperation should aim at maintaining the value chain in Europe (also for new innovative “floating” technologies). France has the ambition to become a world leader in floating wind farms and the Occitania region is the area where most of the developments in this field are taking place. Two pre-commercial floating wind farms will be built in the next few years and the realisation of the first commercial project with a capacity of 250 megawatts should start in 2030. Port-la-Nouvelle\, located southwest of Montpellier\, is currently being developed as a dedicated port for the floating wind farms. \nWind’OCC\, the cluster organisation for wind energy in the Occitan region\, is the catalyst for local offshore wind developments. This organisation is very open to European cooperation\, witness the MoU signed between Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE) and Wind’OCC\, in April 2022. \nFocus\nThis innovation mission focuses on new technologies in the floating wind industry. The main themes of the mission are: \n\nIntegral design and optimisation of wind turbine and floater as one installation;\nStandardisation and industrialisation (especially serial production of floaters);\nPort assembly\, transport and installation of the turbines;\nRealisation of floating wind test sites;\nEcological aspects of floating wind farms.\n\nFor whom?\nThe mission focus particularly on R&D managers\, business development managers\, CTOs and CEOs of interested companies (startups/scale-ups\, SMEs and large companies) active in the floating wind industry and knowledge institutions working on – or involved in – the development of innovation technologies for floating wind farms. \nThe mission is small-scale with a maximum of 20 participants. We will take in consideration how your expertise matches the focus and purpose of this mission. You will receive final confirmation of your participation after the closing of the application period. \nProgram\nThe current draft program provides for visits to the University of Toulouse\, the University of Montpellier and Port-la-Nouvelle\, where huge floaters are assembled. \nThe mission will consist of formal and informal networking meetings\, presentations and roundtable discussions. There will also be time to pitch your organization. We will define the program in the coming period. We will take into account specific wishes. \nCosts\nThe participant fee for the innovation mission is € 250 excluding VAT per person. This includes: participation in the collective program\, transfers to and from program components\, lunch and dinners if specified in the program.\nParticipation does not include: travel and accommodation costs\, all individual costs and possible matchmaking costs. \nInterest\nAre you interested in participating in this innovation mission? Please fill in the online interest form by 15 March 2023. \nOrganisation\nThe Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) is organising this mission on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate\, in cooperation with the Innovation Attaché network in Paris and NBSO Netherlands Business Support Office in Nantes). The program is being developed in cooperation with HHWE\, and the French regional organisation Wind’OCC. \nThe mission is organised within the framework of Wind and Water Works (WWW). WWW is the platform established by RVO\, HHWE\, NWEA\, NMT and IRO and aims to promote the Dutch offshore wind sector abroad. \nMore information?\nDo you have any questions about this innovation mission? SUMMARY:PWEA 2023 Conference
DESCRIPTION:The Polish Wind Energy Association (PWEA) Conference is the largest wind energy event in Poland as well as Central and Eastern Europe. Poland is currently facing a very serious challenge as a result of climate change\, the war in Ukraine\, the economic crisis and the inevitable energy transition. \nThe development of renewable energy sources is now Poland’s raison d’etre – especially wind energy is a solution to the problem of energy poverty\, dramatically high energy prices and Poland’s dependence on imported raw materials. According to the Polish Energy Networks\, the potential of RES indicated the possibility of producing more than 100TWh per year of renewable energy by 2030\, which will significantly exceed 50% of Poland’s electricity demand. The PWEA 2023 conference is a reflection of the key challenges – during the event\, we will try to answer the question of how the country’s energy sector will evolve in the coming years to ensure energy security\, achieve ambitious climate targets and free ourselves from fossil sources. \nThis three-day event brings together key-decision makers\, opinion leaders\, representatives of local authorities\, business and environmental associations\, the media and the entire wind industry in one place. \nNetherlands participation\nThis activity is part of the PIB Poland\, but open to all Dutch companies active in (offshore) wind. For preliminery equiries\, please contact Elro van den Burg (e.vandenburg@pibowepolen.pl | +48 608 490 395). \n

SUMMARY:WindDay 2023

SUMMARY:WindEurope Annual Event - NL visit organized by Brandmarion
DESCRIPTION:When it comes to energy\, the world is changing rapidly. We have a lot to take stock of. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has changed the dynamic of the European energy debate. Clean\, home-grown renewables are the name of the game. That means more wind\, more customers\, closer cooperation\, and more opportunities for our industry.\nThe EU now want wind to go from 190 GW today to 510 GW by 2030. We were already gearing up to deliver the targets set under the European Green Deal – now we’ve got to help deliver an energy secure Europe too. The stakes have never been higher.\nWhen it comes to wind power\, Denmark is one of Europe’s shining lights. The country is a global leader in the field\, for both onshore and offshore wind. And a showcase for what we do best as an industry. \nIt’s only fitting then that in 2023\, the wind energy sector will come to life in Copenhagen\, from 25-27 April. There’s a lot on the line for us here. It’s time to come together to plot the way forward. \nThis will be the key European wind energy event of the year. You can expect a wide-ranging conference shedding light on the state of the industry\, and a look at the years ahead. There’ll be hundreds of companies looking to showcase their brands and build solid partnerships. Top speakers from Governments\, industry\, NGOs\, financial institutions and centres of learning. Educational outlets looking at the face of our industry and what keeps it ticking. And thousands of others from around the world looking to fill themselves in on all things wind. \nWith decarbonisation and energy security on the agenda\, this is a defining moment for wind energy. And Copenhagen will lay the groundwork for the shape of the sector in the years ahead. This is your chance to come and make your mark. \nAll of WindEurope’s events are developed by the industry for the industry. The wind industry’s brightest minds help to put the programme together and support its execution. And every euro you spend on these events goes back to the association\, enabling our advocacy work and putting wind at the centre of the European energy mix. \nThe Netherlands Pavilion | Dutch Village\, organized by the Netherlands Wind Energy Association (NWEA)\, is already fully booked.  \nNL visits by Brandmarion\nJust like previous year(s)\, Brandmarion will organize NL visits to the WindEurope Annual Event. Two options: \n\nEarly departure on April 26\, 2023\, for a one day visit to the exhibition. End of the day traveling back to the Netherlands. Fee €425\,00 per person.\nEarly departure on April 25\, 2023\, for a two day trip. Stay in a 4* hotel included in the centre of Copenhagen. The second day traveling back to the Netherlands at the end of the day. Fee €585\,00 per person.\n\nFor more information and registration for these tours\, please contact Brandmarion directly. \n

SUMMARY:Webinar Offshore Wind in Portugal
DESCRIPTION:Similarly to the Netherlands\, Portugal has both an important track record and future ambitions with regard to the energy transition. In 2021\, over 57% of the total energy produced came from renewable sources. Portugal aims to reach 80% of its electricity consumption from renewables by 2026 and thereafter to become climate neutral in 2050. \nPortugal currently has only 25MW of installed offshore capacity. Yet\, wider wind energy has a very important place in the country’s renewable energy capacity: 30% of the energy production comes from wind\, through 5.6 GW of installed capacity. Around 4GW of this capacity was installed between 2005 and 2012\, creating opportunities in\, and the need for\, repowering investments. From the consumption side\, important to note that the country has around 80% of its electricity consumption along a 50km shoreline extension. \nDeveloping offshore capacity\nThe development of offshore capacity is now a top priority for the government. A 10GW auction will be launched by the end of 2023. As the deepsea waters close to the shore prevent the use of bottom-fixed turbines\, the preference for this auction will likely be on floating solutions\, leveraging from the positive experience from the Windfloat Atlantic project. \nJoin our webinar\nTo explore the opportunities that the Portuguese offshore wind market could provide for Dutch companies\, we kindly invite you to join a webinar hosted by The Netherlands Embassy in Lisbon in cooperation with wind & water works and supported by RVO.\nTopics will include Portugal’s strategy and the preliminary zoning that was subject to public consultation by Maria João Rodrigues\, Advisor at the Ministry of Energy & Climate and the experiences gained in the Portuguese wind market during the execution of the Windfloat Atlantic project by Marco Wiedijk\, VP Business Development at Principle Power. After the presentations\, there is room for Q&A and discussion. \nDetails and registration\n\nDate: Thursday 13 April\nTime: 00-12.00 hrs (NL time)\n\nRegistration link: Webinar Offshore wind in Portugal (rvo.nl) \nKindly register by 11 April latest. \nThe weblink will be sent to you close to the date of the webinar.\nThe working language during the session will be English.

SUMMARY:Symposium: New Energies – New Challenges: Re-inventing the Offshore Industry
DESCRIPTION:Offshore production of renewable energy is rapidly increasing with developments such as wind farms\, ocean current turbines and floating solar farms. More advancements are to come with for example offshore hydrogen production. These developments make use of experience from the existing offshore industry\, but also require innovations to overcome new challenges and ensure the new energy sources are cost competitive with other sources of energy. \nIn this symposium the current state of the offshore industry is sketched as well as the developments that are ongoing to produce new energies and challenges they bring.
