SUMMARY:HybridLabs Launch @TU Delft
DESCRIPTION:Co-creation between disciplines and stakeholders to accelerate the energy transition whilst strengthening offshore food and nature transitions. \nHybridLabs is a consortium of 37 partners that will accelerate innovations in offshore renewable energy through data-driven hybrid labs. HHWE is cooperation partner of Hybrid Labs. \nThe scale of infrastructure and innovations in HybridLabs is unique. HybridLabs creates a Dutch infrastructure connecting hybrid experimental facilities\, simulators and offshore demonstration sites\, which learn from each other using new data- and physics-driven approaches. This nationwide infrastructure will be used to test innovations\, such as new monitoring techniques\, nature-strengthening offshore renewables\, and new control and design strategies for floating installation techniques. Additionally\, the consortium will ensure the supply chain’s readiness and will lift potential barriers to implementation\, whether legal\, financial\, ecological\, or societal. \nDuring the launch on February 16\, we will celebrate the essence of HybridLabs: the co-creation between disciplines and stakeholders for accelerating the energy transition whilst also strengthening the offshore nature and food transitions. Several HybridLabs partners will share their vision through presentations and panel discussions. \nAfter the Hybridlabs Launch\, Professor Axelle Viré will give her inaugural lecture entitled “Floating Winds of Change”\, where she will present her ongoing work and vision in floating wind energy. \nFor more information\, the specific details of the programme and registration\, please click here. \n

SUMMARY:OTC Asia
DESCRIPTION:From February 27  to March 1\, 2024\, Netherlands Maritime Technology (NMT) will again organize a NL Pavilion at OTC Asia in Kuala Lumpur\, Malaysia. Join NMT and leverage the network and the power of the NL Pavilion. \nOffshore Technology Conference Asia (OTC Asia) is where energy professionals meet to exchange ideas and opinions to advance scientific and technical knowledge on offshore resources and environmental issues. \nMalaysia’s shipbuilding and ship repair market\nMalaysia is located on one of the world’s busiest waterways\, the Strait of Malacca\, and is also home to major ports and container terminals. The country has about 100 ship and repair yards. In 2022\, Malaysian yards delivered 53 ocean-going vessels (25476 GT in total)\, most of which were tugs (source: IHS Fairplay). For the somewhat more complex ships and offshore structures built in Malaysia\, the country relies in part on foreign engineers and ship offshore designs. The Malaysian government wants Malaysia to become a hub for shipbuilding and repair in the region. To encourage this\, they are offering tax breaks to companies that want to invest in this sector in Malaysia. \nAbout two-thirds of the 100 shipyards are located in western Malaysia\, such as in: Lumut (Perak)\, Klang (Selangor)\, Kuala Terengganu (Terengganu) and Pasir Gudang (Johor). In East Malaysia\, most yards are located in Sibu (Sarawak). Generally\, they build less complex\, small to medium-sized vessels\, such as: tugs and pushers\, ferries\, fishing vessels\, patrol vessels\, short sea vessels and offshore supply vessels. \nIn addition to shipbuilding\, shipyards also engage in repair work. In addition\, there are some major shipyards in the country that can receive ships for repair up to about 450\,000 tons displacement (DWT)\, such as: Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering (MMHE)\, Boustead Naval Shipyard (BHIC)\, Sabah Shipyard\, Sapura Kencana\, Nam Cheong and Muhibbah Marine Engineering. \nParticipation in the NL Pavilion\nParticipation includes: \n\nstand construction including display of your company logo and name;\nstand inventory\, electricity and lighting;\njoint central lounge with catering (including lunch);\nNL network reception;\noffer NMT travel and transport arrangements;\njoint PR;\nWiFi available in the NL Pavilion; and\nsupport from NMT.\n\nParticipation costs\nThe cost per m2 for NMT members is € 1095\,- excluding VAT. The cost per m2 for non-members is € 1195\,- excluding VAT. Prices do not include travel and accommodation costs.\nYour company may be eligible for the SIB Collective Activity Subsidy. This scheme allows you to (partially) finance various activities when doing international business. The subsidy amounts to 50% of the costs\, up to a maximum of € 2\,500. \nMore information\nFor more information\, contact Evy Menheere\, Trade Promotion Manager at NMT at T 088 44 51 014 or E menheere@maritimetechnology.nl. \n  \nSOURCE: Netherlands Maritime Technology

SUMMARY:NL Lounge @ K.EY – The Energy Transition Expo
DESCRIPTION:In 2022 Italy commissioned its first commercial offshore wind project; the 30MW Beleolico offshore wind farm\, the first offshore wind project commissioned in the Mediterranean Sea. \nThe Italian wind energy market is expected to reach wind installation capacity to 22.3 GW in 2030 from  11 GW in 2022. According to the National Energy and Climate plan (NECP)\, Italy has set a target of contributing 30% to the 2030 European Union (EU) renewable energy target\, aiming for greenhouse gas emissions reduction. This\, in turn\, is expected to have a significant increase in wind power (both onshore and offshore) capacity share in the country’s energy mix\, which is likely to provide an opportunity for growth in the deployment of wind energy in the coming future. \nWith these ambitious targets in Italy\, foreign knowledge is needed to set up the supply chain\, which offers great opportunities for the Dutch wind sector\, both onshore and offshore. \nK.EY – The Energy Transition Expo\nFrom February 28 – March 1\, 2024\, the second edition of the K.EY\, the Energy Transition Expo will take place in Rimini\, Italy. K.EY is Europe’s leading event dedicated to technologies\, services and integrated solutions for energy efficiency and renewable energy. The topics to be addressed include the development of renewable energy communities\, new developments in wind\, solar and photovoltaics\, the prospects for offshore parks and large-scale and long-term storage\, and the various applications of hydrogen. \nThe first edition of the K.EY attracted over 35\,000 visitors and 603 exhibitors\, from all over the world\, and provided platform to over 150 conferences\, workshops and networking events. \nNetherlands Lounge\nThe Dutch Embassy in Rome and the Consulate General in Milan are organizing\, with the support of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO)\, a Netherlands Lounge at K.EY\, with room for approximately 10 companies. The focus is on companies active in the offshore wind\, hydrogen\, and e-mobility sectors.\nThe NL Lounge is conveniently located at a central point in the wind energy hall\, on the border with the e-mobility hall and the hydrogen hall. \nIf over 10 companies will register for participation\, a selection of 10 companies will be made by the organizers\, based on sector and mutual cohesion. \nNext to the NL Lounge\, a networking moment will be included in the K.EY program. More information about that will be shared later on. \nA recap of the 2023 edition is available here. \n \nParticipation costs\nParticipation costs are €1.000 per company\, excluding travel and accommodation costs and VAT. \nMore information\nWould you like to present your company at the NL Lounge during K.EY 2024? Please send an email to the Dutch Embassy no later than December 22\, 2023 via rom-ea@minbuza.nl.

SUMMARY:Trade mission sustainable port development Brazil
DESCRIPTION:Are you active in port development? And are you curious about your opportunities in Brazil? Consider taking part in the sustainable port development trade mission to Brazil from March 3-7\, 2024. The trade mission is led by Robert Simons\, deputy mayor and alderman in Rotterdam. \nThe trade mission will visit the largest Latin American exhibition for the logistics sector\, the Intermodal in Sao Paulo. In addition\, the port of Rio Grande will be visited. Furthermore\, this mission offers a unique opportunity to get in touch with interested parties from the port sector. \nPort development in Brazil\nFor the Brazilian economy\, ports are extremely important. Almost all cargo (95%) flows through the Brazilian port system. An annual increase of 5-10% more cargo is expected in the coming years. SUMMARY:IRO Netherlands Pavilion @ OTC Houston (REGISTRATION CLOSED)
DESCRIPTION:Join the IRO Netherlands Pavilion at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) 6-9 May 2024 in Houston! \nBeing one of the world’s leading offshore energy shows that has been organized since 1969\, OTC is where the world’s energy professionals meet to exchange knowledge and share ideas and opinions to advance scientific and technical knowledge for Offshore resources.\nThe energy transition is an important part of the exhibition with an energy transition pavilion and an offshore wind lounge central on the exhibition floor and a substantial part of the conference topics. \nPricing Schedule\nDue to the fluctuations in the logistics costs\, IRO has decided to list those separately and invoice afterwards based on true costs. \n \nN.B. Square meter prices have a dollar and a euro component. These two added\, form the total price per square meter. Prices are excl. VAT. \n* the amount of $ 250 /m2 is an estimation of the standard stand building logistics costs (shipping + local transport costs called ‘drayage’). These costs are fluctuating so much that IRO has decided to list those separately and invoice afterwards based on the true costs. Obviously together with IRO’s logistics partner Impeco we do everything in our power to mitigate those. In 2023 IRO has managed to keep those below $ 200/m2. For custom stand building logistics cost depend on the design and weight of the materials used. \n \nPoints of attention\nDue to the large interest for OTC\, IRO would like to draw your attention to the following: \nPlease note that all companies (including new applicants) who are interested to be considered for a stand at OTC 2024 are explicitly invited to submit an application form to formalize previous verbal or written expressions of interest. Only in this way\, your company will be placed on the (waiting) list to be considered for stand space next year’s or future OTC editions. \n\nIRO is not able to guarantee your participation. If you have special requests\, you can mark these on the application form.\nPlease note that due to high number of registrants and a maximum number of square meters IRO is allowed to buy\, we might need to create a waiting list. We are trying to accommodate all members as good as possible.\nIRO endeavors to comply with all the wishes of participants. However please be aware that due to the OTC regulations\, IRO may be forced to impose severe restrictions on the location and size of individual booths. No guarantees whatsoever can be given at this point in time.\n\nMore information and registration\nFor more information\, please contact Jeroen Tresfon via j.tresfon@iro.nl or visit the IRO event website here. \nRegistration is closed.

SUMMARY:Intake Mission Offshore Wind Sweden
DESCRIPTION:Are you interested in the Swedish offshore wind market? Then join the Intake Mission Offshore Wind to Sweden from May 27 to 29\, 2024.  \nThe Swedish offshore wind market\, known for its open-door policy\, has attracted a lot of interest from developers\, with more than 20 projects announced so far. With an announced capacity exceeding 120 GW\, Sweden’s market is primarily driven by developers. However\, approximately 30% of these projects overlap\, leading to competition for permits\, site exclusivity\, and grid connection. \nThe Swedish government is exploring the possibility of implementing a centralized system to replace the current open-door policy. In response to this\, the Netherlands Embassy in Stockholm\, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO)\, and Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE) have joined forces to organize an intake mission. \nMission goal\nThe purpose of the intake mission is threefold: \n\nFactfinding on the current Swedish offshore wind market (policy\, market outlook & supply chain).\nExchange of know-how/expertise on policy and other relevant topics like ecology enhancement\, spatial planning\, multi-use of offshore wind farms\, grid\, power to X etc.\nTo demonstrate the reliability of the Dutch offshore wind supply chain as a valuable partner for Sweden.\n\nFor whom\nThis will be a small-scaled mission (5-7 companies). Therefore\, we would only like to invite companies with a clear interest in the Swedish offshore wind market to register. Final participation depends on the number of places available. We also consider how well your expertise fits within the scope and purpose of the mission. Registration therefore does not mean that you will be admitted to the mission. You will receive a final confirmation of participation after registration has closed. \nDraft program\nThe mission program is still under development. We try to take participants’ specific wishes into account as much as possible when determining the program. \nMonday May 27th – evening \n\nArrival at Stockholm Airport\nInformal dinner with the delegation\n\nTuesday May 28th \n\nStart of formal program with various visits in Stockholm focused on government stakeholders\n\nWednesday May 29th \n\nVarious visits focused on private stakeholders. SUMMARY:WINDFORCE Conference
DESCRIPTION:The 22nd WINDFORCE 2024 Offshore Wind and Hydrogen Conference will be held in Bremerhaven\, Germany\, June 4-6\, 2024. The WINDFORCE Conference has become the central meeting place for the offshore wind industry in Germany during its 17-year history. The WINDFORCE Dinner will offer participants the opportunity to enjoy the company of existing and new business partners in a pleasant atmosphere! \nAbout WINDFORCE\nThe partner country from June 10 to 12 is Denmark\, as there is great potential for cross-border cooperation. Our motto this year: strongertogether: Offshore wind and maritime industry\, we are the base of the renewables According to the realization agreement of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK)\, 30 gigawatts of offshore wind energy should be connected to the grid in German waters by 2030 and at least four gigawatts of green hydrogen are to be produced in the North and Baltic Seas. Over 300 national and international experts\, including from the conference partner country Denmark\, are expected to attend this international industry class reunion. The conference consists of a central panel discussion\, over 50 specialist presentations\, keynote speeches\, dinner speeches and start-up presentations. In total\, conference participants can look forward to around 70 speakers sharing and contributing their expertise. It is important to use joint strengths and leverage synergies! With the further development of the offshore wind industry\, combined with the maritime industry and the hydrogen economy\, there are major challenges that can only be solved together. These will be the topics that you can expect: How do we achieve 30 gigawatts by 2030 in Germany and 300 gigawatts in the EU together and in international cooperation? Grid development and the electricity market are important prerequisites and therefore one of the main topics. The development of port infrastructure is essential for offshore wind and is therefore a prominent topic. What support measures can companies take advantage of for further development? An outlook on other European markets provides insights into the basics\, objectives and remuneration models. Current expert information on the state of climate development conveys the urgent need for the consistent expansion of renewable energies. The implementation and development of hydrogen projects pose major challenges and will therefore also be a topic. Service & operation is becoming increasingly important. Windforce is therefore inviting experts who operate offshore to share their experiences. The Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) will be organizing a thematic block on the Digitalization of Maintenance. We are already looking forward to welcoming you to the Heinrich Rönner Group’s premises for our traditional international reunion of the offshore wind industry. Construction and expansion is a tradition here! \nThe documentation of WINDFORCE 2023 can be found here:\nhttps://windforce.info/windforce2023/ \nInterested in a joint participation in this event\, organized by Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE)? SUMMARY:Trade mission offshore wind South Korea
DESCRIPTION:Are you active in the offshore wind sector? And would you like to know more about your business opportunities in South Korea? Then join the offshore wind trade mission to South Korea from 9 to 13 June.  \nOpportunities for the offshore wind sector \nWhen it comes to offshore wind\, the Netherlands and South Korea have similar goals. By 2030\, the government wants 21 GW of energy to be generated by offshore wind in the Netherlands. The government in South Korea wants to increase at least 16% of the country’s energy generation by wind turbines in the same year. This is about 19.3 GW of capacity. South Korea will install most wind turbines at sea (14.3 GW).  \nRenewable energy policy \nUnlike the Netherlands\, the South Korean wind energy market is in its early stages. There are only 3 projects of 124.5 MW. South Korea’s renewable energy policy does focus on wind power\, especially offshore wind power. The wind energy auction for 2023 was successfully concluded with 1431 MW of offshore wind and 152 MW of onshore wind\, while the first auction in 2022 was only with 374 MW for both onshore and offshore wind combined.  \nLarger projects from 2024 onwards \nSouth Korean private and public offshore wind developers are working on even bigger projects. South Korea’s first commercial-scale offshore wind farm\, Jeonnam 1 (99 MW)\, will be commissioned in 2024. This will be followed by Jeonnam 2 (399 MW) and Jeonnam 3 (399 MW). Construction of more offshore wind farms\, such as Wando Geumil (600 MW)\, Anma (532 MW) and Shinan Ui (390 MW)\, will start in the coming years.  \nOpportunities offshore \nSouth Korean offshore wind energy developments can significantly accelerate and scale up thanks to close cooperation opportunities with strong steel\, shipbuilding and manufacturing industries. The South Korean government seems increasingly interested in tapping into new markets and is working to reduce administrative burdens for companies. This is expected to further accelerate the energy transition. Foreign developers are actively cooperating with South Korean stakeholders and participating in auctions.   \nFor whom? \nThis trade mission is open to Dutch companies\, knowledge institutions and organisations active in the offshore wind sector. Dutch companies can especially help with South Korea’s energy transition through their expertise and experience in:  \n\ndevelopment; \nengineering; \ninstallation of large turbines; \ntransport; \noperation and maintenance; \ntraining and education. \n\nIn particular\, we also invite women entrepreneurs to participate in this mission.  \nWhy participate? \nDuring this mission\, Dutch companies\, knowledge institutions and organisations can:  \n\nget acquainted with the South Korean market; \ninvestigate market opportunities in South Korea; \nstrengthen existing relations in South Korea; \nget in touch with potential South Korean business partners\, clients or South Korean authorities. \n\nProgram\nThe programme of this mission includes company visits\, informative sessions\, networking events and networking receptions. We also reserve time for 1-on-1 matchmaking with South Korean companies and organisations. See the programme below:  \nDraft programme Trade Mission Offshore Wind  \nDirectly following this trade mission\, the exploratory offshore energy mission to China will take place from 16 to 21 June. This may be interesting for you to combine with the mission to South Korea.  \nParticipation and costs \nParticipation in the trade mission costs €500 per organisation\, excluding VAT (maximum 2 persons).\n \nFor more than 2 persons per organisation\, you pay €250 extra per person\, excluding VAT. Each participant registers separately.  \nThe costs include participation in the joint programme\, local support by the organisation and joint transport.  \n Interpretation\, travel and accommodation costs are at your own expense. The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) is not liable for possible cancellation costs.  \nRegister \nYou can register here until 1 May 2024.  \nRegistration and the automatic confirmation do not immediately mean that you can participate in this economic mission. You will receive a final confirmation of your participation and a travel proposal after the application deadline.  \nCorporate social responsibility \nThe Dutch government attaches importance to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and subscribes to the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. These set out the CSR standards for internationally active entrepreneurs. Compliance with these OECD guidelines is one of the conditions for participating in this mission. To assess whether your company or organisation meets these conditions\, we ask you to complete a CSR self-scan when you apply.  \nWant to know more? \nIf you have any questions about this trade mission\, please contact:  \nJos Hermsen\, project leader trade mission South Korea\nE: jos.hermsen@rvo.nl.   \nCommissioned by:\nMinistry of Foreign Affairs  \n  \n

Use NMT’s SME Lounge as your base and also enjoy extra promotion! \nSEAWORK in Southampton is the maritime workboat show of the United Kingdom. This is the event that brings everyone from the UK – working in the workboat sector – together. Every year the show welcomes around 7\,200 visitors from 60 countries all over the world. From shipping companies\, owners\, yards and suppliers. \nThe annual event takes place on the wharf of Mayflower Park. In addition to the company booths\, there are also a number of work boats in the water. Seaworks also offers a highly regarded conference program and the European Commercial Marine Awards are presented here. \nOpportunities in the United Kingdom\nThe UK\, like the Netherlands\, has a successful and established shipping industry. Currently\, the UK’s successful shipping sector still produces too many greenhouse gasses and pollutants. Therefore the British government has heavily focussed on making shipping more sustainable in recent years. National action plans such as the ‘Clean Maritime Plan’ must ensure that the country achieves (inter)national climate goals. There are many opportunities in the UK maritime sector for Dutch companies\, providing solutions around sustainable shipping and ‘smart ports’. The British government has recently invested heavily in both themes. In the UK\, the energy transition stimules cleaner shipping. The developments also ensures more independently sailing ships\, efficiency and safety. There are opportunities for companies that develop alternative fuels or make batteries for ships. \nMaritime report United Kingdom\nIn March 2023\, a market study of the maritime sector in the UK was carried out. This market research was commissioned by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and the Netherlands Business Support Office (NBSO) in Manchester. The report provides an overview of the British maritime sector\, what the opportunities are and how you can react on these opportunities. \nClick here for more information and the option to download the report.  \nWhat is a SME Lounge?\nAfter successful SME Lounges as ColombiaMar in Colombia\, Seatrade Maritime & Logistics in Dubai and the Monaco Yacht Show\, NMT is now going to SEAWORK with a SME Lounge. \nThe SME Lounge at SEAWORK has a total surface of 25sqm and will be shared with several Dutch companies. It serves as a base from which you can visit and discover the exhibition. You can retreat here to have a drink or something to eat. You can invite your relations here for a conversation/meeting\, or share experiences with other Dutch people about doing business in the UK. \nNMT ensures that participation is completely worry-free\, for extra publicity and for extra networking opportunities. \nCosts\nNMT members          €1.250 + €600 co-exhibitor fee\nNon NMT members  €1.750 + €600 co-exhibitor fee \nPrices are excl. VAT and travel and accommodation costs. \nIncluded in the price:  \n\nshared booth of 25sqm\, including decoration\ncatering during the day (coffee\, soft drinks\, lunch\, etc.)\nnetwork opportunities\njoint PR\nexhibitor listing in the catalogue\nmatchmaking meetings\nPR via SEAWORK media channels\nsupport and guidance from NMT\n\n*NMT can only offer the low participation fees if they can receive a SME Lounge subsidy from RVO. Unfortunately\, it’s not yet certain whether the subsidy will be granted\, as applications for 2024 are not possible yet. NMT will inform participants when there is more known about the subsidy. \nConvinced to join?\nMake sure to register before January 31\, 2024. \nAt least 10 companies are needed to organize the SME Lounge.
