SUMMARY:NL delegation visit to Turkey & Turkish Wind Energy Congress (TWEC)
DESCRIPTION:As of 2024\, Turkey has a total installed capacity of 12GW\, which generates about 10% of Turkey’s electricity\, mainly in the west in the Aegean and Marmara regions. Wind energy is gradually becoming a larger share of renewable energy in Turkey. The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (MENR) aims to have 30GW of installed capacity by 2035\, including 5GW of offshore wind\, under its National Energy Plan which was released in 2022. \nIn June 2023\, the Ministry of Energy and Natural resources (MENR) launched a tender for the delivery of site investigations and consultancy services for three development zones in the Sea of Marmara\, which is expected to pave the way for its first offshore wind auction. \nWith the ambitions of the Turkish government\, and the need for international expertise to reach these goals\, now is the time to capitalize on your business opportunities in Turkey! We foresee business opportunities in both the onshore and offshore wind industry for the Dutch wind sector. \nTurkish Wind Energy Congress\nThe 13th Turkish Wind Energy Congress (TWEC)\, organized by the Turkish Wind Energy Association (TWEA)\, will be held on November 5-6\, 2024\, at the Istanbul Hilton Bomonti Hotel. \nTWEC 2024 will address the latest developments and opportunities in the Turkish wind energy sector from both a national and global perspective and will once again be the most effective platform for information exchange and collaborations in Turkey. Experts\, stakeholders\, policymakers\, and academics from leading regions in the wind sector\, especially Europe\, will participate. \nTWEC will offer participants comprehensive and diverse content. Sessions where the most important and urgent issues of the wind sector will be discussed in depth by experts are among others: \n\nthe Future of the Wind event\, where innovative technologies will be examined;\nthe Turkish Supplier Day\, which will be organized in cooperation with WindEurope; and\nthe Career Festival\, where future professionals will meet the business world.\n\nNetherlands delegation\nThe Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ankara\, together with Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE)\, organize an exclusive delegation visit to Turkey from November 4-6\, 2024. This program is designed to help Dutch companies enter the fast-growing Turkish offshore and onshore wind energy market. \nOur visit will begin on November 4 with a combination of company visits and  B2B matchmaking/networking session\, offering valuable opportunities to connect with key players in the Turkish wind energy industry (for these components we would like to receive your input on which Turkish companies you would like to visit/meet). This will be followed by participation in the 13th Turkish Wind Energy Congress (TWEC) on November 5 &6 in Istanbul\, the premier event in Turkey’s wind energy sector. Please note that we can only facilitate the program on Monday November 4 when we have enough participating Dutch companies. \nPreliminary program \n \nDisclaimer:\nPlease note that the event details are subject to change. SUMMARY:Trade mission 'Energy Transition' with Minister Klever to Sweden and Finland
DESCRIPTION:Is your company active in the energy transition and would you like to explore your opportunities to do business or invest in Sweden and/or Finland? Consider joining this economic mission to Sweden and Finland! The first part of the visit is led by Reinette Klever\, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development. The chairman of VNO-NCW (Ingrid Thijssen) is the delegation leader.  \nDuring the mission you will have the opportunity to establish and expand your network at a high level. Additionally\, you can sign e.g. contracts\, a declaration of intent or Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the presence of the Minister\, which will provide extra visibility to your project or investment. \nOpportunities for Dutch companies\nDuring this mission\, Dutch companies\, knowledge institutions and organizations can: \n\ngain insights into the Swedish and Finnish markets;\ninvestigate market opportunities in Sweden and Finland;\nstrenghten existing contacts in Sweden and Finland; and\ngetting in touch with potential Swedish and Finnish business partners\, clients and/or governments.\n\nFor whom?\nThis economic mission is open to Dutch companies\, knowledge institutions and organizations active in the following areas in energy transition: \n\nhydrogen;\nbattery technology; and\nwind energy.\n\nAre you an business woman with international ambitions? The government is committed to more diversity and therefore specifically encourages female entrepreneurs to take the international step through the Growth across Borders campaign. \nCompanies that are doing business internationally are more productive\, more innovative and more successful. By joining this mission you will expand your network and increase your international opportunities. \nWhy participate?\nMarket opportunities in Sweden and Finland \nSweden and Finland are two of the world’s most prosperous and innovative countries. Their economy offers a wide range of market opportunities. Both countries have a favorable investment climate and promote international cooperation. \nThis makes the countries attractive markets for companies that: \n\nwant to expand their activities in Europe; and/or\nwant to enter into innovation collaborations.\n\nMarket opportunities for the energy transition \nThe Nordic region is known for its leading position in renewable energy. The countries in this region have played a pioneering role in sustainable energy production since the early 20th century. Sweden has ambitious goals for sustainability and climate neutrality. This offers opportunities for companies that offer innovative solutions to accelerate the energy transition.\nIn Finland\, nuclear energy and wind energy are the main energy suppliers. The use of wind energy in particular has increased significantly and is still growing. \n\nMarket Opportunities in hydrogen\nHydrogen is a key component of the Nordic region’s green energy transition. Dutch\, Swedish and Finnish companies can collaborate on technological innovation\, research and knowledge exchange. This makes it possible to build sustainable hydrogen value chains together.\nGreen electricity and water are widely available in Sweden. Just like low electricity prices and a hydrogen ecosystem with public and private partnerships. It is not without reason that Sweden produced the first fossil-free steel. \nThe expected increase in hydrogen production for the sustainability of industrial processes and transport offers opportunities for Dutch entrepreneurs. Think of electrolysis\, infrastructure and storage. \nFinland aims to produce at least 10-15% of Europe’s zero-emission hydrogen by 2030. There is no major gas network in Finland. \nDutch companies can add significant value to: \n\ninfrastructure development;\nsafety;\nelectrolysis equipment; and/or\nsharing experiences from the successful hydrogen valleys.\n\n\n\nMarket Opportunities in wind energy\nSweden and Finland offer optimal opportunities for the development of both onshore and offshore wind energy.\nIn Sweden there is continued growth of onshore wind energy. This offers opportunities for Dutch companies. The trade association expects that capacity will increase by approximately 1\,000 MW annually until 2026. The growth rate is slightly lower than in the record years. Nevertheless\, the expansion of wind energy in Sweden remains an important market development with great potential for investment and cooperation. \nCurrently\, 443 TWh of electricity production is being developed via offshore wind farms. The Swedish government has 22 projects in preparation. There are long-term opportunities for Dutch companies in offshore wind energy. This is due to a shortage of large offshore construction companies and suppliers in Sweden. \nThe world’s first offshore wind farm in frozen sea conditions is already operational in Finland. More tenders for offshore wind farms are currently open for international competition. \nTo realize the ambitious plans for offshore wind energy\, international expertise is needed in the areas of: \n\nseabed studies;\ndifferent phases in construction;\nships;\nport infrastructure; and/or\nthe sustainability aspect.\n\nThe 3-year ‘Partners for International Business’ program for offshore wind energy recently started. In principle\, participation in the program is still possible. It is intended to connect Dutch and Finnish companies\, promote cooperation\, and thus increase export opportunities for Dutch companies. \n\n\nMarket Opportunities in battery technology\nSweden is a leader in electrification. Houses are heated by heat pumps and the industry is switching en masse to green electricity. Batteries play a very important role in this.\nOne of the drivers is Northvolt. This company develops\, produces and recycles its own batteries. Northvolt has a gigantic factory in the north of Sweden. It is currently building several factories in Sweden (in addition to the Volvo trucks factories) and Europe (Northern Germany). \nAnother driver is the innovative Swedish industry. E.g.\, Scania has opened a new battery factory for electrifying their (‘heavy-duty’) models. Other examples include Heart Aerospace (electric aircraft) and Candela (electric hydrofoil ferries). \nFinland is the only country in Europe that has all the minerals needed for battery production. It also has significant capacity in battery materials refining and precursor material production. Recently there were publications of significant investment projects for battery cell production in Finland. \nFinland has the potential to control the entire value chain and produce sustainable\, ethical\, batteries through a combination of: \n\nresponsible mining;\na high-quality innovation climate; and\nrecycling expertise.\n\n\nProgram\nThe program of this 4-day mission includes company visits and networking events with Swedish and Finnish companies and organizations. In general\, the program has the following components: \n\nknowledge sharing sessions\, such as seminars or workshops;\ncompany and/or location visits;\nnetworking events; and\ntrade reception/trade dinner.\n\nThe mission starts with a joint kick-off led by Minister Klever in Stockholm. There will also be a networking seminar and reception with relevant contacts for the mission participants\, co-organized by Business Sweden and moderated by scientist and writer Jasper van Kuijk. \nDuring registration (see furter below)\, companies have to complete a questionnaire and can\, if desired\, have an intake interview in which they can indicate which companies they would like to meet during the mission. We do our best to take these wishes into account in the development of the program. \n\nPreliminary program\n  \nMonday November 4\n• Flight from Amsterdam to Stockholm (travel at own convenience)\n• Informal welcome to hotel\n• Network reception\n• Overnight stay in Stockholm \nTuesday November 5\n• Official opening/kick-off of the mission\n• Company visit(s)\n• Networking event\n• Trade reception\n• Overnight stay in Stockholm \nWednesday November 6\n• Company visit(s)\n• Informative sessions\n• Networking event\n• Flight to Helsinki (or flight to Amsterdam)\n• Overnight stay in Helsinki \nThursday November 7\n• Kick-off session\n• Informative session\n• Networking event\n• Trade reception\n• Overnight stay in Helsinki \nFriday November 8\n• Company visit(s)\n• Networking lunch\n• Debriefing session\n• Flight to Amsterdam \n\nParticipation and costs\nThe participation fee for this mission is €950 per company\, with a maximum of 2 people per company. If you want to participate with more people from your company\, the additional costs are €475 per additional person. \nIncluded are: \n\nparticipation in the collective program components;\ncollective matchmaking;\nlocal support by the organization; and\nlocal transport (linked to the program).\n\nTravel and accommodation costs and personal transfers are at your own expense and risk. After the registration period you will receive suggestions for your trip and accommodation as soon as possible. \nRegistration\nSign up here for this economic mission to Sweden and Finland. The deadline for registration is September 16\, 2024. \nParticipation is limited to Dutch companies and organizations that align with the mission’s focus. Registration and automatic confirmation of receipt therefore does not mean that you are participating in this trade mission. You will receive a final confirmation of your participation after the registration period has closed. \nOrganization\nThe Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) organizes this mission in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Dutch embassies in Sweden and Finland\, working together with among others Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE)\, NedZero and LinkedbyOffshoreWind. \nMore information\nFor questions about this mission\, please contact Hanneke Bogaerts\, missions project manager at RVO.\nCommissioned by: Ministry of Foreign Affairs. \nMore information about business opportunites in Finland \nMore information about business opportunities in Sweden

SUMMARY:Netherlands Lounge @ Wind Energy Trade Show Ireland
DESCRIPTION:Ireland is a world leader in onshore wind energy and the integration of renewable power\, and has some of the best offshore ewind resources on the planet. The first offshore wind projects are entering the planning system and new offshore and onshore auctions are coming up in 2024 and early 2025. \nIreland is in the process of finalising the SOuth Coast Designated Maritime Area Plan (DMAP)\, the first sub-national\, forward maritime spatial plan for offshore renewable energy proposed by the State. The draft DMAP identifies 4 maritime areas for future offshore wind development off the South Coast of Ireland. \nNow is the right time for sourcing opportunities\, building the network and laying the foundations for what looks like along and prosperous future of offshore wind in Ireland. Ireland’s offshore wind market is relatively speaking in an emerging state. Yet\, there are few places in the world\, where the prospects for offshore wind development (and particularly floating and hydrogen) are as plentiful. With a sea area seven times its landmass\, and with one of the best offshore renewable energy resources globally\, Ireland has very significant potential in utilizing these resources to generate carbon-free renewable electricity. \nThe Government commits to at least 5GW of offshore wind energy generation by 2030\, ramping up to 35GW by 2050. However\, the potential is much higher; estimates range from 70 – 100 GW of (mainly floating) offshore renewable energy post 2030. This provides Ireland with the opportunity to become a major exporter of green energy\, powering much of Europe by 2050 via wind generated electricity and hydrogen. \nNow is the time to capitalize on your business opportunities\, therefore we decided to participate in the second edition of the Wind Energy Trade Show\, organized by Wind Energy Ireland (WEI). \nProgram\n\nNovember 5 – arrival in Dublin & visit to Rosslare Europort (confirmed)\nNovember 6 – NL Lounge @ Wind Energy Ireland Tradeshow\nNovember 7 – NL Lounge @ Wind Energy Ireland Tradeshow\nNovember 8 – company visits (possibly developers) & departure to the Netherlands\n\nNetherlands Lounge\nHolland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE)\, together with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Dublin and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO)\, will set up a Netherlands Lounge at the Wind Energy Trade Show exhibition\, with a floorspace of 48sqm\, in which every company will get individual exposure. The Lounge is conveniently located at the expo hall\, and can accommodate up to 12 companies. See floorplan here (with the Netherlands Lounge located next to the Main Stage). \nThe following services are included: \n\nFully equipped joint Netherlands booth with customized national NL branding;\nOwn poster desk for each participating company;\nCorporate photos and logo integrated in the Lounge graphics;\nShared TV screen to display PowerPoint Presentation (max. 6 slides) OR corporate video (max. 1\,5 min) in the Lounge;\nHost(ess)/support on site by HHWE\, Dutch Embassy Dublin and RVO;\nSupport in arranging individual meetings with Irish stakeholders;\n1 exhibitor pass per company (additional passes €165 per exhibitor pass);\nHotel and travel recommendation;\nParticipation in the side event/program;\nDrinks & snacks in the Lounge; and\nJoint promotion.\n\nParticipation costs\nPIB members                                  free of charge (additional exhibitor tickets €165\,00 per person)\nNon PIB members                          €2.750\,00 (incl.1 exhibitor ticket\, additional tickets €165\,00 per person) \nParticipants are responsible for their own travel expenses. SUMMARY:WindEurope Annual Event 2025
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce that we will be attending the WindEurope Annual Event 2025\, taking place from April 8-10\, 2025\, at the Bella Center in Copenhagen\, Denmark. This premier event will bring together over 15\,000 industry professionals and more than 500 exhibitors showcasing the latest innovations in wind energy. It is an unmissable opportunity for networking\, learning\, and exploring new business prospects. See who is exhibiting through the floorplan here or through the exhibitors list. \nDenmark\, the birthplace of wind energy\, continues to lead the way in renewable energy. With more than half of its electricity generated by wind power—up to 55%—Denmark is setting new records and driving the future of clean energy. WindEurope\, in partnership with the city of Copenhagen and key Danish stakeholders\, is proud to host this pivotal industry event. Following the record-breaking attendance of nearly 16\,000 participants in 2023\, we anticipate even greater participation in 2025. \nAs Europe moves closer to its 2030 energy and climate targets\, the need to accelerate the energy transition has never been more urgent. The WindEurope Annual Event 2025 will be a key opportunity for the sector to come together\, set the course for future success\, and ensure wind energy plays a central role in achieving Europe’s sustainable energy goals. \nThe year 2025 will also mark a turning point in European politics\, with a new European Commission taking office in November 2024. Wind energy will face increased scrutiny as governments evaluate the costs and benefits of the energy transition. This is the time to showcase the value of wind—not only in combating climate change but also as a source of jobs\, innovation\, and energy sovereignty. Wind power already supports 350\,000 jobs in Europe and provides 250 GW of installed capacity\, powering homes\, factories\, and livelihoods with clean\, locally-sourced energy. \nNetherlands participation\nWe are planning to organize a Dutch Village at the WindEurope Annual Event 2025. For more information\, please contact events@hhwe.eu \nHolland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE) will also be attending the event as visitors.
