SUMMARY:South Korea Trade Mission
DESCRIPTION:In collaboration with The ELBE Alliance\, Blue Cluster is organizing a trade mission to South Korea for SMEs active in renewable offshore energy in November 2023. This mission aims to establish contacts with local organizations and companies that are active in the renewable energy. \nWhy Korea?\nThe wind energy sector can become the difference-maker that gives South Korea’s renewable energy progress that much-needed boost. The country’s vast potential for offshore wind is already starting to attract some of the leading developers in the industry. What remains to be seen is the scale of investments and the speed of the transition. Judging by the first signs\, South Korea’s future promises to be ‘windy’. \nAs part of its Green New Deal\, South Korea aims to generate 20% of its power with renewables by 2030. The target for offshore wind capacity is 12GW\, a significant increase from the 124.5MW the country has today. Next to fixed-bottom offshore wind\, South Korea is aiming to build 10GW of floating offshore wind in Ulsan and South West Korea. \nPreliminary program\n \nFor more details about the offshore wind opportunities\, the preliminary program\, the individual components of the program and the organizer of the mission\, please download the PDF document of ELBE here. \nMore information and registration\nIf you are interested to join the mission\, please express your interest via the Blue Cluster website here. \nFor more information\, please reach out to Hanne Deprez from the Blue Cluster (hanne.deprez@bluecluster.be | +32 472 55 67 09).

SUMMARY:HybridLabs Launch @TU Delft
DESCRIPTION:Co-creation between disciplines and stakeholders to accelerate the energy transition whilst strengthening offshore food and nature transitions. \nHybridLabs is a consortium of 37 partners that will accelerate innovations in offshore renewable energy through data-driven hybrid labs. HHWE is cooperation partner of Hybrid Labs. \nThe scale of infrastructure and innovations in HybridLabs is unique. HybridLabs creates a Dutch infrastructure connecting hybrid experimental facilities\, simulators and offshore demonstration sites\, which learn from each other using new data- and physics-driven approaches. This nationwide infrastructure will be used to test innovations\, such as new monitoring techniques\, nature-strengthening offshore renewables\, and new control and design strategies for floating installation techniques. Additionally\, the consortium will ensure the supply chain’s readiness and will lift potential barriers to implementation\, whether legal\, financial\, ecological\, or societal. \nDuring the launch on February 16\, we will celebrate the essence of HybridLabs: the co-creation between disciplines and stakeholders for accelerating the energy transition whilst also strengthening the offshore nature and food transitions. Several HybridLabs partners will share their vision through presentations and panel discussions. \nAfter the Hybridlabs Launch\, Professor Axelle Viré will give her inaugural lecture entitled “Floating Winds of Change”\, where she will present her ongoing work and vision in floating wind energy. \nFor more information\, the specific details of the programme and registration\, please click here. \n

SUMMARY:OTC Asia
DESCRIPTION:From February 27  to March 1\, 2024\, Netherlands Maritime Technology (NMT) will again organize a NL Pavilion at OTC Asia in Kuala Lumpur\, Malaysia. Join NMT and leverage the network and the power of the NL Pavilion. \nOffshore Technology Conference Asia (OTC Asia) is where energy professionals meet to exchange ideas and opinions to advance scientific and technical knowledge on offshore resources and environmental issues. \nMalaysia’s shipbuilding and ship repair market\nMalaysia is located on one of the world’s busiest waterways\, the Strait of Malacca\, and is also home to major ports and container terminals. The country has about 100 ship and repair yards. In 2022\, Malaysian yards delivered 53 ocean-going vessels (25476 GT in total)\, most of which were tugs (source: IHS Fairplay). For the somewhat more complex ships and offshore structures built in Malaysia\, the country relies in part on foreign engineers and ship offshore designs. The Malaysian government wants Malaysia to become a hub for shipbuilding and repair in the region. To encourage this\, they are offering tax breaks to companies that want to invest in this sector in Malaysia. \nAbout two-thirds of the 100 shipyards are located in western Malaysia\, such as in: Lumut (Perak)\, Klang (Selangor)\, Kuala Terengganu (Terengganu) and Pasir Gudang (Johor). In East Malaysia\, most yards are located in Sibu (Sarawak). Generally\, they build less complex\, small to medium-sized vessels\, such as: tugs and pushers\, ferries\, fishing vessels\, patrol vessels\, short sea vessels and offshore supply vessels. \nIn addition to shipbuilding\, shipyards also engage in repair work. In addition\, there are some major shipyards in the country that can receive ships for repair up to about 450\,000 tons displacement (DWT)\, such as: Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering (MMHE)\, Boustead Naval Shipyard (BHIC)\, Sabah Shipyard\, Sapura Kencana\, Nam Cheong and Muhibbah Marine Engineering. \nParticipation in the NL Pavilion\nParticipation includes: \n\nstand construction including display of your company logo and name;\nstand inventory\, electricity and lighting;\njoint central lounge with catering (including lunch);\nNL network reception;\noffer NMT travel and transport arrangements;\njoint PR;\nWiFi available in the NL Pavilion; and\nsupport from NMT.\n\nParticipation costs\nThe cost per m2 for NMT members is € 1095\,- excluding VAT. The cost per m2 for non-members is € 1195\,- excluding VAT. Prices do not include travel and accommodation costs.\nYour company may be eligible for the SIB Collective Activity Subsidy. This scheme allows you to (partially) finance various activities when doing international business. The subsidy amounts to 50% of the costs\, up to a maximum of € 2\,500. \nMore information\nFor more information\, contact Evy Menheere\, Trade Promotion Manager at NMT at T 088 44 51 014 or E menheere@maritimetechnology.nl. \n  \nSOURCE: Netherlands Maritime Technology

SUMMARY:NL Lounge @ K.EY – The Energy Transition Expo
DESCRIPTION:In 2022 Italy commissioned its first commercial offshore wind project; the 30MW Beleolico offshore wind farm\, the first offshore wind project commissioned in the Mediterranean Sea. \nThe Italian wind energy market is expected to reach wind installation capacity to 22.3 GW in 2030 from  11 GW in 2022. According to the National Energy and Climate plan (NECP)\, Italy has set a target of contributing 30% to the 2030 European Union (EU) renewable energy target\, aiming for greenhouse gas emissions reduction. This\, in turn\, is expected to have a significant increase in wind power (both onshore and offshore) capacity share in the country’s energy mix\, which is likely to provide an opportunity for growth in the deployment of wind energy in the coming future. \nWith these ambitious targets in Italy\, foreign knowledge is needed to set up the supply chain\, which offers great opportunities for the Dutch wind sector\, both onshore and offshore. \nK.EY – The Energy Transition Expo\nFrom February 28 – March 1\, 2024\, the second edition of the K.EY\, the Energy Transition Expo will take place in Rimini\, Italy. K.EY is Europe’s leading event dedicated to technologies\, services and integrated solutions for energy efficiency and renewable energy. The topics to be addressed include the development of renewable energy communities\, new developments in wind\, solar and photovoltaics\, the prospects for offshore parks and large-scale and long-term storage\, and the various applications of hydrogen. \nThe first edition of the K.EY attracted over 35\,000 visitors and 603 exhibitors\, from all over the world\, and provided platform to over 150 conferences\, workshops and networking events. \nNetherlands Lounge\nThe Dutch Embassy in Rome and the Consulate General in Milan are organizing\, with the support of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO)\, a Netherlands Lounge at K.EY\, with room for approximately 10 companies. The focus is on companies active in the offshore wind\, hydrogen\, and e-mobility sectors.\nThe NL Lounge is conveniently located at a central point in the wind energy hall\, on the border with the e-mobility hall and the hydrogen hall. \nIf over 10 companies will register for participation\, a selection of 10 companies will be made by the organizers\, based on sector and mutual cohesion. \nNext to the NL Lounge\, a networking moment will be included in the K.EY program. More information about that will be shared later on. \nA recap of the 2023 edition is available here. \n \nParticipation costs\nParticipation costs are €1.000 per company\, excluding travel and accommodation costs and VAT. \nMore information\nWould you like to present your company at the NL Lounge during K.EY 2024? Please send an email to the Dutch Embassy no later than December 22\, 2023 via rom-ea@minbuza.nl.

SUMMARY:Trade mission sustainable port development Brazil
DESCRIPTION:Are you active in port development? And are you curious about your opportunities in Brazil? Consider taking part in the sustainable port development trade mission to Brazil from March 3-7\, 2024. The trade mission is led by Robert Simons\, deputy mayor and alderman in Rotterdam. \nThe trade mission will visit the largest Latin American exhibition for the logistics sector\, the Intermodal in Sao Paulo. In addition\, the port of Rio Grande will be visited. Furthermore\, this mission offers a unique opportunity to get in touch with interested parties from the port sector. \nPort development in Brazil\nFor the Brazilian economy\, ports are extremely important. Almost all cargo (95%) flows through the Brazilian port system. An annual increase of 5-10% more cargo is expected in the coming years. Ports in Brazil are struggling to keep up with this growth\, especially in logistics. \nAdditionally\, Brazilian ports need to become sustainable\, also to meet the increasing energy demand. The construction of offshore wind farms is an important part of this. A part of the power generated by these wind farms will be used to produce green hydrogen. \nOpportunities for Dutch companies\nBrazil is looking for solutions that can combine these different challenges. The Netherlands has a lot of knowledge and experience in ports\, logistics\, innovation and sustainability. This offers opportunities for Dutch companies. \nFor whom\nFor this trade mission\, we invite Dutch companies involved in: \n\ninnovative and sustainable port development\, digitalisation\, port logistics and hinterland connectivity;\nrenewable energy projects for near- and offshore wind and the production of (green) hydrogen;\nport infrastructure\, including cargo terminals\, pipelines\, storage facilities\, electricity infrastructure and electrolyzers; air treatment plants\, desalination and other water facilities;\nmaster planning and consultancy for ports; and\ndevelopment of employees’ knowledge\, skills and experience (human capital development).\n\nWhy participate?\nParticipation in this mission offers you: \n\na complete program with access to exclusive activities;\nintroductions with the most important Brazilian port sector organisations;\nmore insight about your market opportunities in Brazil;\ncontact with an international network and meetings with potential business partners;\nopportunity to exchange knowledge and experience;\nopportunity to increase your company’s brand awareness.\n\n\nProgram\nSaturday March 2\n• Departure from Amsterdam to São Paulo and from São Paulo to Pelotas \nSunday March 3\n• Official kick-off at hotel in Rio Grande do Sul \nMonday March 4\n• morning\nVisit to the port of Rio Grande \n• afternoon\nBusiness lunch \n• evening\nCocktails with stakeholders from the region \nTuesday March 5\n• Departure to São Paulo for official kick-off trade fair Intermodal guided tour of the exhibition floor \n• Special program for Paranaguá: meeting with the Deputy Mayor of Rotterdam and the Governor of Paraná + a business session \nWednesday March 6\n• morning\nMeeting with the consul general of São Paulo \n• afternoon\nSeminar on the Intermodal exhibition floor + matchmaking session (for Green Port Partnership members only) \nThursday March 7\n• Company visits São Paulo (to be confirmed) and closing lunch \nFriday March 8\n• Departure from São Paulo to Amsterdam \n\n  \nParticipation and costs\nSign up for this trade mission via the registration form here. \nParticipation is free for participants in the Green Ports Partnership program\, a public-private partnership between Dutch and Brazilian port partners. \nNon-affiliated companies pay a contribution of €750 excluding VAT. SUMMARY:IRO Netherlands Pavilion @ OTC Houston (REGISTRATION CLOSED)
DESCRIPTION:Join the IRO Netherlands Pavilion at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) 6-9 May 2024 in Houston! \nBeing one of the world’s leading offshore energy shows that has been organized since 1969\, OTC is where the world’s energy professionals meet to exchange knowledge and share ideas and opinions to advance scientific and technical knowledge for Offshore resources.\nThe energy transition is an important part of the exhibition with an energy transition pavilion and an offshore wind lounge central on the exhibition floor and a substantial part of the conference topics. \nPricing Schedule\nDue to the fluctuations in the logistics costs\, IRO has decided to list those separately and invoice afterwards based on true costs. \n \nN.B. Square meter prices have a dollar and a euro component. These two added\, form the total price per square meter. Prices are excl. VAT. \n* the amount of $ 250 /m2 is an estimation of the standard stand building logistics costs (shipping + local transport costs called ‘drayage’). These costs are fluctuating so much that IRO has decided to list those separately and invoice afterwards based on the true costs. Obviously together with IRO’s logistics partner Impeco we do everything in our power to mitigate those. In 2023 IRO has managed to keep those below $ 200/m2. For custom stand building logistics cost depend on the design and weight of the materials used. \n \nPoints of attention\nDue to the large interest for OTC\, IRO would like to draw your attention to the following: \nPlease note that all companies (including new applicants) who are interested to be considered for a stand at OTC 2024 are explicitly invited to submit an application form to formalize previous verbal or written expressions of interest. Only in this way\, your company will be placed on the (waiting) list to be considered for stand space next year’s or future OTC editions. \n\nIRO is not able to guarantee your participation. If you have special requests\, you can mark these on the application form.\nPlease note that due to high number of registrants and a maximum number of square meters IRO is allowed to buy\, we might need to create a waiting list. We are trying to accommodate all members as good as possible.\nIRO endeavors to comply with all the wishes of participants. However please be aware that due to the OTC regulations\, IRO may be forced to impose severe restrictions on the location and size of individual booths. No guarantees whatsoever can be given at this point in time.\n\nMore information and registration\nFor more information\, please contact Jeroen Tresfon via j.tresfon@iro.nl or visit the IRO event website here. \nRegistration is closed.

SUMMARY:Intake Mission Offshore Wind Sweden
DESCRIPTION:Are you interested in the Swedish offshore wind market? Then join the Intake Mission Offshore Wind to Sweden from May 27 to 29\, 2024.  \nThe Swedish offshore wind market\, known for its open-door policy\, has attracted a lot of interest from developers\, with more than 20 projects announced so far. With an announced capacity exceeding 120 GW\, Sweden’s market is primarily driven by developers. However\, approximately 30% of these projects overlap\, leading to competition for permits\, site exclusivity\, and grid connection. \nThe Swedish government is exploring the possibility of implementing a centralized system to replace the current open-door policy. In response to this\, the Netherlands Embassy in Stockholm\, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO)\, and Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE) have joined forces to organize an intake mission. \nMission goal\nThe purpose of the intake mission is threefold: \n\nFactfinding on the current Swedish offshore wind market (policy\, market outlook & supply chain).\nExchange of know-how/expertise on policy and other relevant topics like ecology enhancement\, spatial planning\, multi-use of offshore wind farms\, grid\, power to X etc.\nTo demonstrate the reliability of the Dutch offshore wind supply chain as a valuable partner for Sweden.\n\nFor whom\nThis will be a small-scaled mission (5-7 companies). Therefore\, we would only like to invite companies with a clear interest in the Swedish offshore wind market to register. Final participation depends on the number of places available. We also consider how well your expertise fits within the scope and purpose of the mission. Registration therefore does not mean that you will be admitted to the mission. You will receive a final confirmation of participation after registration has closed. \nDraft program\nThe mission program is still under development. We try to take participants’ specific wishes into account as much as possible when determining the program. \nMonday May 27th – evening \n\nArrival at Stockholm Airport\nInformal dinner with the delegation\n\nTuesday May 28th \n\nStart of formal program with various visits in Stockholm focused on government stakeholders\n\nWednesday May 29th \n\nVarious visits focused on private stakeholders. Evening return to the Netherlands\n\nCosts\nParticipation in the intake mission is free of charge. Participants are responsible for covering the following expenses: \n\ntravel and accommodation costs (intercontinental and domestic flights and hotels)\nall individual costs\, such as lunches and dinners outside the programme\n\nRegistration\nAre you interested in participating in this Intake Mission Offshore Wind Sweden? Please register by May 9th 2024 via the online ticket.\nPlease note that if you cancel your participation after registration\, any costs made for your participation on your behalf\, will be invoiced to you. \nInteresting reads\n\nSwedish offshore wind ‘goldrush’ shows no signs of slowing down\nSweden’s offshore wind market is on the rise with fierce competition\n\nQuestions?\nIf you have any questions about the Intake Mission Offshore Wind Sweden\, you can contact us via events@hhwe.eu.
