DESCRIPTION:Is your company internationally active in the maritime\, ports\, renewable energy\, agri-food\, horticulture or sustainable urban development sectors? And are you curious about your business opportunities in Colombia? Consider joining the trade mission to Colombia from September 24-28\, 2023. The trade mission is led by Minister Liesje Schreinemacher\, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation. \nWhy join?\nDuring the mission\, Dutch companies and knowledge institutes have the opportunity to: \n\nGet acquainted with the Colombia market;\nExplore market opportunities in Colombia;\nStrengthen existing contacts in Colombia; and\nCome into contact with potential Colombian business partners\, clients and/or governments.\n\nWith the Minister being present during the mission\, you can establish and expand contacts at a high level. For example\, you can sign a contract\, letter of intent (LoI) or Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in her presence\, which will give extra visibility to your project\, company or investment. \nFor whom?\nParticipation is open to Dutch companies and knowledge institutes that are active in the following sectors: \nSustainable port development and renewable energy and maritime (Bogotá and Cartagena) \n\n Digitizing ports;\n Sustainable port development;\n Coastal protection / natural solutions (nature-based solutions);\n Ship-building;\n Hydrogen; and\n Offshore Wind.\n\nRVO especially invites female entrepreneurs and start-ups to join this mission. Also companies from the Caribbean part of the Kingdom are welcome to participate. \nMarket opportunities\nClimate change is hitting Colombia hard. Dutch knowledge and expertise can support the country with this\, including coastal protection\, land and water management. \nSustainable port development\nLarge Colombian ports (such as Cartagena) want to use innovations to improve their resilience and work more efficiently. They also want to expand and improve by dredging and modernizing with automation and digitization. This offers opportunities for Dutch companies that are specialists in this area. \nRenewable energy and the maritime sector\nColombia is the 3rd South American country in generating renewable energy from sun\, wind and biomass. The country has great ambitions in this area. In 2023 and 2024\, an additional 3\,300MW of sustainable energy will probably be generated. Dutch companies can support with knowledge\, skills and technology in sustainable energy. There are opportunities in the areas below. \n\nOffshore wind energy: upcoming fall the first auction of offshore wind energy will take place\, which is unique in South America.\nHydrogen: Colombia is planning for hydrogen production\, with the first pilot projects already set up. The country can thus become an important export partner for Europe.\nShipbuilding and repair: this industry is growing. The main yard Cotecmar works closely with Dutch suppliers. In addition\, Colombia is a hub for the maritime sector\, because it is close to the Panama Canal and in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans.\n\nProgram\nThe program will be adapted to the sectors. Components of the program can be: \n\nIndividual matchmaking (tailored network conversations);\nInformative breakout sessions\, such as seminars or workshops;\nCompany visits;\nNetworking events; and\nTrade reception or dinner.\n\nThe trade mission starts with a joint program in Bogotá\, led by Minister Schreinemacher\, consisting of an informal introduction and networking reception. Participants will then travel to different cities per sector. For more details\, please see the provisional programs on the RVO website here. \nParticipation and costs\nParticipation costs are €950 per organization (with a maximum of 2 participants). For each additional participant within a company an additional fee of €475 applies. \nIf a company registers with several people\, its possible to follow different sector programs. However\, you can only apply for individual matchmaking for one sector program per organization. Possible interpretation costs are for your own account. \nIncluded in the participation are the joint program components\, individual matchmaking\, local support by the organization and local transport (linked to the mission program).\nTravel and accommodation costs and personal transport are for your own account and risk. After the registration period you will receive suggestions for your trip and accommodation as soon as possible. \nRegistration\nSign up to participate via the RVO website here. Deadline for registration: July 3\, 2023. \nParticipation in this mission is only open to Dutch companies and knowledge institutes from the Kingdom of the Netherlands that fit within the set-up and substantive focus of this trade mission. SUMMARY:Netherlands Lounge @ Wind Energy Trade Show Ireland SOLD OUT
DESCRIPTION:The Netherlands Lounge at the Wind Energy Trade Show Ireland is sold out.  \nAlready a leader in onshore wind energy\, Ireland has the project pipeline and the determination to become a force in offshore renewables as well. In May 2023\, Ireland successfully held its first-ever offshore wind auction. Four projects with a combined capacity of 3GW were awarded. The successful completion of the auction is a breakthrough for renewables in Ireland and critical to achieving the targets set in Ireland’s 2030 Climate Action Plan. \nThe auction is a crucial landmark for the expansion of offshore wind in Ireland. As of now Ireland only has one small offshore wind farm of 25MW. The acution is also key to delivering Ireland’s 2030 Climate Action Plan. Ireland wants to have 5GW of installed offshore wind capacity and further 2GW of floating wind capacity under development by 2030. It’s central to the government’s target to provide 80% of electricity from renewables by 2030. But that will only be the beginning\, because by 2050\, Ireland aspires to have at least 37GW of offshore wind. \nIreland is now also working on a National Industrial Strategy for Offshore Wind – to be published in the first quarter of 2024. The Strategy aims to ensure that Ireland can build up the supply chain needed to deliver its offshore wind ambitions. And that it captures the long-term benefits of offshore wind for both the economy and society. And there’s a lot of work to do on the Irish supply chain. Crucially Ireland needs to invest in its port infrastructure. This is a top priority for the government. And Ireland must ensure it has a robust planning system that can quickly assess applications. The lack of resources and capacity in the National Parks & Wildlife Service and the delays in setting up the Maritime Area Regulatory Authority are critical concerns. \nAll of these developments and challenges create opportunities for Dutch wind power companies to enter the Irish market and contribute to the local supply chain. Now is the time to capitalize on your business opportunities\, and be part of the FIRST EVER Wind Energy Exhibition in Ireland! \nThe Wind Energy Trade Show 2023 is an exciting new event which will bring together Ireland’s growing domestic supply chain\, the key players in the global wind energy industry and cutting edge research from Ireland and internationally for the country’s first Wind Energy Trade Show. The 2023 Trade Show will showcase the exciting potential for new entrants into the Irish market and introduce the world Irish stakeholders. This event will be a meeting place where the world’s major players and key industry leaders will chart a vision for Ireland’s energy future alongisde a rapidly growing network of local and European suppliers all looking to invest in our energy revolution. \nNetherlands Lounge\nHolland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE)\, together with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Dublin\, will set up a Netherlands Lounge with a total floorspace between of 54sqm\, in which every participant will get individual exposure. SUMMARY:OTC Asia
DESCRIPTION:From February 27  to March 1\, 2024\, Netherlands Maritime Technology (NMT) will again organize a NL Pavilion at OTC Asia in Kuala Lumpur\, Malaysia. Join NMT and leverage the network and the power of the NL Pavilion. \nOffshore Technology Conference Asia (OTC Asia) is where energy professionals meet to exchange ideas and opinions to advance scientific and technical knowledge on offshore resources and environmental issues. \nMalaysia’s shipbuilding and ship repair market\nMalaysia is located on one of the world’s busiest waterways\, the Strait of Malacca\, and is also home to major ports and container terminals. The country has about 100 ship and repair yards. In 2022\, Malaysian yards delivered 53 ocean-going vessels (25476 GT in total)\, most of which were tugs (source: IHS Fairplay). For the somewhat more complex ships and offshore structures built in Malaysia\, the country relies in part on foreign engineers and ship offshore designs. The Malaysian government wants Malaysia to become a hub for shipbuilding and repair in the region. To encourage this\, they are offering tax breaks to companies that want to invest in this sector in Malaysia. \nAbout two-thirds of the 100 shipyards are located in western Malaysia\, such as in: Lumut (Perak)\, Klang (Selangor)\, Kuala Terengganu (Terengganu) and Pasir Gudang (Johor). In East Malaysia\, most yards are located in Sibu (Sarawak). Generally\, they build less complex\, small to medium-sized vessels\, such as: tugs and pushers\, ferries\, fishing vessels\, patrol vessels\, short sea vessels and offshore supply vessels. \nIn addition to shipbuilding\, shipyards also engage in repair work. In addition\, there are some major shipyards in the country that can receive ships for repair up to about 450\,000 tons displacement (DWT)\, such as: Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering (MMHE)\, Boustead Naval Shipyard (BHIC)\, Sabah Shipyard\, Sapura Kencana\, Nam Cheong and Muhibbah Marine Engineering. \nParticipation in the NL Pavilion\nParticipation includes: \n\nstand construction including display of your company logo and name;\nstand inventory\, electricity and lighting;\njoint central lounge with catering (including lunch);\nNL network reception;\noffer NMT travel and transport arrangements;\njoint PR;\nWiFi available in the NL Pavilion; and\nsupport from NMT.\n\nParticipation costs\nThe cost per m2 for NMT members is € 1095\,- excluding VAT. The cost per m2 for non-members is € 1195\,- excluding VAT. Prices do not include travel and accommodation costs.\nYour company may be eligible for the SIB Collective Activity Subsidy. This scheme allows you to (partially) finance various activities when doing international business. The subsidy amounts to 50% of the costs\, up to a maximum of € 2\,500. \nMore information\nFor more information\, contact Evy Menheere\, Trade Promotion Manager at NMT at T 088 44 51 014 or E menheere@maritimetechnology.nl. \n  \nSOURCE: Netherlands Maritime Technology

In addition\, the port of Rio Grande will be visited. Furthermore\, this mission offers a unique opportunity to get in touch with interested parties from the port sector. \nPort development in Brazil\nFor the Brazilian economy\, ports are extremely important. Almost all cargo (95%) flows through the Brazilian port system. An annual increase of 5-10% more cargo is expected in the coming years. Ports in Brazil are struggling to keep up with this growth\, especially in logistics. \nAdditionally\, Brazilian ports need to become sustainable\, also to meet the increasing energy demand. The construction of offshore wind farms is an important part of this. A part of the power generated by these wind farms will be used to produce green hydrogen. \nOpportunities for Dutch companies\nBrazil is looking for solutions that can combine these different challenges. The Netherlands has a lot of knowledge and experience in ports\, logistics\, innovation and sustainability. This offers opportunities for Dutch companies. \nFor whom\nFor this trade mission\, we invite Dutch companies involved in: \n\ninnovative and sustainable port development\, digitalisation\, port logistics and hinterland connectivity;\nrenewable energy projects for near- and offshore wind and the production of (green) hydrogen;\nport infrastructure\, including cargo terminals\, pipelines\, storage facilities\, electricity infrastructure and electrolyzers; air treatment plants\, desalination and other water facilities;\nmaster planning and consultancy for ports; and\ndevelopment of employees’ knowledge\, skills and experience (human capital development).\n\nWhy participate?\nParticipation in this mission offers you: \n\na complete program with access to exclusive activities;\nintroductions with the most important Brazilian port sector organisations;\nmore insight about your market opportunities in Brazil;\ncontact with an international network and meetings with potential business partners;\nopportunity to exchange knowledge and experience;\nopportunity to increase your company’s brand awareness.\n\n\nProgram\nSaturday March 2\n• Departure from Amsterdam to São Paulo and from São Paulo to Pelotas \nSunday March 3\n• Official kick-off at hotel in Rio Grande do Sul \nMonday March 4\n• morning\nVisit to the port of Rio Grande \n• afternoon\nBusiness lunch \n• evening\nCocktails with stakeholders from the region \nTuesday March 5\n• Departure to São Paulo for official kick-off trade fair Intermodal guided tour of the exhibition floor \n• Special program for Paranaguá: meeting with the Deputy Mayor of Rotterdam and the Governor of Paraná + a business session \nWednesday March 6\n• morning\nMeeting with the consul general of São Paulo \n• afternoon\nSeminar on the Intermodal exhibition floor + matchmaking session (for Green Port Partnership members only) \nThursday March 7\n• Company visits São Paulo (to be confirmed) and closing lunch \nFriday March 8\n• Departure from São Paulo to Amsterdam \n\n  \nParticipation and costs\nSign up for this trade mission via the registration form here. \nParticipation is free for participants in the Green Ports Partnership program\, a public-private partnership between Dutch and Brazilian port partners. \nNon-affiliated companies pay a contribution of €750 excluding VAT. Travel and accommodation costs are at your own expense. Meals and other activities are also at your own expense\, unless otherwise stated in the program. \nAfter selection\, you will receive information about the hotel where the delegation will stay. It is not compulsory to book overnight stays in the same hotel\, but participants from previous missions indicated that they found it useful to stay in the same hotel. \nWant to know more?\nMore information on the Green Ports Partnership (GPP) program can be found on the Rotterdam Partners website. Wondering what the GPP program can do for your business? \nThen contact: Diana Bossman\, advisor at RVO\, via diana.bossman@rvo.nl. \nCorporate Social Responsibility\nThe Dutch government considers Corporate Social Responsibility (including human rights) important and endorses the OECD Guidelines\, in which the CSR standards for internationally active entrepreneurs are agreed on.
