SUMMARY:Intake Mission Offshore Wind Sweden
DESCRIPTION:Are you interested in the Swedish offshore wind market? Then join the Intake Mission Offshore Wind to Sweden from May 27 to 29\, 2024.  \nThe Swedish offshore wind market\, known for its open-door policy\, has attracted a lot of interest from developers\, with more than 20 projects announced so far. With an announced capacity exceeding 120 GW\, Sweden’s market is primarily driven by developers. However\, approximately 30% of these projects overlap\, leading to competition for permits\, site exclusivity\, and grid connection. \nThe Swedish government is exploring the possibility of implementing a centralized system to replace the current open-door policy. In response to this\, the Netherlands Embassy in Stockholm\, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO)\, and Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE) have joined forces to organize an intake mission. \nMission goal\nThe purpose of the intake mission is threefold: \n\nFactfinding on the current Swedish offshore wind market (policy\, market outlook & supply chain).\nExchange of know-how/expertise on policy and other relevant topics like ecology enhancement\, spatial planning\, multi-use of offshore wind farms\, grid\, power to X etc.\nTo demonstrate the reliability of the Dutch offshore wind supply chain as a valuable partner for Sweden.\n\nFor whom\nThis will be a small-scaled mission (5-7 companies). Therefore\, we would only like to invite companies with a clear interest in the Swedish offshore wind market to register. Final participation depends on the number of places available. We also consider how well your expertise fits within the scope and purpose of the mission. Registration therefore does not mean that you will be admitted to the mission. You will receive a final confirmation of participation after registration has closed. \nDraft program\nThe mission program is still under development. We try to take participants’ specific wishes into account as much as possible when determining the program. \nMonday May 27th – evening \n\nArrival at Stockholm Airport\nInformal dinner with the delegation\n\nTuesday May 28th \n\nStart of formal program with various visits in Stockholm focused on government stakeholders\n\nWednesday May 29th \n\nVarious visits focused on private stakeholders. Evening return to the Netherlands\n\nCosts\nParticipation in the intake mission is free of charge. Participants are responsible for covering the following expenses: \n\ntravel and accommodation costs (intercontinental and domestic flights and hotels)\nall individual costs\, such as lunches and dinners outside the programme\n\nRegistration\nAre you interested in participating in this Intake Mission Offshore Wind Sweden? Please register by May 9th 2024 via the online ticket.\nPlease note that if you cancel your participation after registration\, any costs made for your participation on your behalf\, will be invoiced to you. \nInteresting reads\n\nSwedish offshore wind ‘goldrush’ shows no signs of slowing down\nSweden’s offshore wind market is on the rise with fierce competition\n\nQuestions?\nIf you have any questions about the Intake Mission Offshore Wind Sweden\, you can contact us via events@hhwe.eu.

SUMMARY:WINDFORCE Conference
DESCRIPTION:The 22nd WINDFORCE 2024 Offshore Wind and Hydrogen Conference will be held in Bremerhaven\, Germany\, June 4-6\, 2024. The WINDFORCE Conference has become the central meeting place for the offshore wind industry in Germany during its 17-year history. The WINDFORCE Dinner will offer participants the opportunity to enjoy the company of existing and new business partners in a pleasant atmosphere! \nAbout WINDFORCE\nThe partner country from June 10 to 12 is Denmark\, as there is great potential for cross-border cooperation. Our motto this year: strongertogether: Offshore wind and maritime industry\, we are the base of the renewables According to the realization agreement of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK)\, 30 gigawatts of offshore wind energy should be connected to the grid in German waters by 2030 and at least four gigawatts of green hydrogen are to be produced in the North and Baltic Seas. Over 300 national and international experts\, including from the conference partner country Denmark\, are expected to attend this international industry class reunion. The conference consists of a central panel discussion\, over 50 specialist presentations\, keynote speeches\, dinner speeches and start-up presentations. In total\, conference participants can look forward to around 70 speakers sharing and contributing their expertise. It is important to use joint strengths and leverage synergies! With the further development of the offshore wind industry\, combined with the maritime industry and the hydrogen economy\, there are major challenges that can only be solved together. These will be the topics that you can expect: How do we achieve 30 gigawatts by 2030 in Germany and 300 gigawatts in the EU together and in international cooperation? Grid development and the electricity market are important prerequisites and therefore one of the main topics. The development of port infrastructure is essential for offshore wind and is therefore a prominent topic. What support measures can companies take advantage of for further development? An outlook on other European markets provides insights into the basics\, objectives and remuneration models. Current expert information on the state of climate development conveys the urgent need for the consistent expansion of renewable energies. The implementation and development of hydrogen projects pose major challenges and will therefore also be a topic. Service & operation is becoming increasingly important. Windforce is therefore inviting experts who operate offshore to share their experiences. The Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) will be organizing a thematic block on the Digitalization of Maintenance. We are already looking forward to welcoming you to the Heinrich Rönner Group’s premises for our traditional international reunion of the offshore wind industry. Construction and expansion is a tradition here! \nThe documentation of WINDFORCE 2023 can be found here:\nhttps://windforce.info/windforce2023/ \nInterested in a joint participation in this event\, organized by Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE)? SUMMARY:Trade mission offshore wind South Korea
DESCRIPTION:Are you active in the offshore wind sector? And would you like to know more about your business opportunities in South Korea? Then join the offshore wind trade mission to South Korea from 9 to 13 June.  \nOpportunities for the offshore wind sector \nWhen it comes to offshore wind\, the Netherlands and South Korea have similar goals. By 2030\, the government wants 21 GW of energy to be generated by offshore wind in the Netherlands. The government in South Korea wants to increase at least 16% of the country’s energy generation by wind turbines in the same year. This is about 19.3 GW of capacity. South Korea will install most wind turbines at sea (14.3 GW).  \nRenewable energy policy \nUnlike the Netherlands\, the South Korean wind energy market is in its early stages. There are only 3 projects of 124.5 MW. South Korea’s renewable energy policy does focus on wind power\, especially offshore wind power. The wind energy auction for 2023 was successfully concluded with 1431 MW of offshore wind and 152 MW of onshore wind\, while the first auction in 2022 was only with 374 MW for both onshore and offshore wind combined.  \nLarger projects from 2024 onwards \nSouth Korean private and public offshore wind developers are working on even bigger projects. South Korea’s first commercial-scale offshore wind farm\, Jeonnam 1 (99 MW)\, will be commissioned in 2024. This will be followed by Jeonnam 2 (399 MW) and Jeonnam 3 (399 MW). Construction of more offshore wind farms\, such as Wando Geumil (600 MW)\, Anma (532 MW) and Shinan Ui (390 MW)\, will start in the coming years.  \nOpportunities offshore \nSouth Korean offshore wind energy developments can significantly accelerate and scale up thanks to close cooperation opportunities with strong steel\, shipbuilding and manufacturing industries. The South Korean government seems increasingly interested in tapping into new markets and is working to reduce administrative burdens for companies. This is expected to further accelerate the energy transition. Foreign developers are actively cooperating with South Korean stakeholders and participating in auctions.   \nFor whom? \nThis trade mission is open to Dutch companies\, knowledge institutions and organisations active in the offshore wind sector. Dutch companies can especially help with South Korea’s energy transition through their expertise and experience in:  \n\ndevelopment; \nengineering; \ninstallation of large turbines; \ntransport; \noperation and maintenance; \ntraining and education. \n\nIn particular\, we also invite women entrepreneurs to participate in this mission.  \nWhy participate? \nDuring this mission\, Dutch companies\, knowledge institutions and organisations can:  \n\nget acquainted with the South Korean market; \ninvestigate market opportunities in South Korea; \nstrengthen existing relations in South Korea; \nget in touch with potential South Korean business partners\, clients or South Korean authorities. \n\nProgram\nThe programme of this mission includes company visits\, informative sessions\, networking events and networking receptions. We also reserve time for 1-on-1 matchmaking with South Korean companies and organisations. See the programme below:  \nDraft programme Trade Mission Offshore Wind  \nDirectly following this trade mission\, the exploratory offshore energy mission to China will take place from 16 to 21 June. This may be interesting for you to combine with the mission to South Korea.  \nParticipation and costs \nParticipation in the trade mission costs €500 per organisation\, excluding VAT (maximum 2 persons).\n \nFor more than 2 persons per organisation\, you pay €250 extra per person\, excluding VAT. Each participant registers separately.  \nThe costs include participation in the joint programme\, local support by the organisation and joint transport.  \n Interpretation\, travel and accommodation costs are at your own expense. The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) is not liable for possible cancellation costs.  \nRegister \nYou can register here until 1 May 2024.  \nRegistration and the automatic confirmation do not immediately mean that you can participate in this economic mission. You will receive a final confirmation of your participation and a travel proposal after the application deadline.  \nCorporate social responsibility \nThe Dutch government attaches importance to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and subscribes to the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. These set out the CSR standards for internationally active entrepreneurs. Compliance with these OECD guidelines is one of the conditions for participating in this mission. To assess whether your company or organisation meets these conditions\, we ask you to complete a CSR self-scan when you apply.  \nWant to know more? \nIf you have any questions about this trade mission\, please contact:  \nJos Hermsen\, project leader trade mission South Korea\nE: jos.hermsen@rvo.nl.   \nCommissioned by:\nMinistry of Foreign Affairs  \n  \n

SUMMARY:SME Lounge @ SEAWORK Southampton
DESCRIPTION:The SEAWORK exhibition will take place in Southampton from June 11-13\, 2024. Netherlands Maritime Technology (NMT) is organizing a collective participation with a SME Lounge for the first time at this event. Do you want to explore the market and the SEAWORK exhibition in an accessible way? Use NMT’s SME Lounge as your base and also enjoy extra promotion! \nSEAWORK in Southampton is the maritime workboat show of the United Kingdom. This is the event that brings everyone from the UK – working in the workboat sector – together. Every year the show welcomes around 7\,200 visitors from 60 countries all over the world. From shipping companies\, owners\, yards and suppliers. \nThe annual event takes place on the wharf of Mayflower Park. In addition to the company booths\, there are also a number of work boats in the water. Seaworks also offers a highly regarded conference program and the European Commercial Marine Awards are presented here. \nOpportunities in the United Kingdom\nThe UK\, like the Netherlands\, has a successful and established shipping industry. Currently\, the UK’s successful shipping sector still produces too many greenhouse gasses and pollutants. Therefore the British government has heavily focussed on making shipping more sustainable in recent years. National action plans such as the ‘Clean Maritime Plan’ must ensure that the country achieves (inter)national climate goals. There are many opportunities in the UK maritime sector for Dutch companies\, providing solutions around sustainable shipping and ‘smart ports’. The British government has recently invested heavily in both themes. In the UK\, the energy transition stimules cleaner shipping. The developments also ensures more independently sailing ships\, efficiency and safety. There are opportunities for companies that develop alternative fuels or make batteries for ships. \nMaritime report United Kingdom\nIn March 2023\, a market study of the maritime sector in the UK was carried out. This market research was commissioned by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and the Netherlands Business Support Office (NBSO) in Manchester. The report provides an overview of the British maritime sector\, what the opportunities are and how you can react on these opportunities. \nClick here for more information and the option to download the report.  \nWhat is a SME Lounge?\nAfter successful SME Lounges as ColombiaMar in Colombia\, Seatrade Maritime & Logistics in Dubai and the Monaco Yacht Show\, NMT is now going to SEAWORK with a SME Lounge. \nThe SME Lounge at SEAWORK has a total surface of 25sqm and will be shared with several Dutch companies. It serves as a base from which you can visit and discover the exhibition. You can retreat here to have a drink or something to eat. You can invite your relations here for a conversation/meeting\, or share experiences with other Dutch people about doing business in the UK. \nNMT ensures that participation is completely worry-free\, for extra publicity and for extra networking opportunities. \nCosts\nNMT members          €1.250 + €600 co-exhibitor fee\nNon NMT members  €1.750 + €600 co-exhibitor fee \nPrices are excl. VAT and travel and accommodation costs. \nIncluded in the price:  \n\nshared booth of 25sqm\, including decoration\ncatering during the day (coffee\, soft drinks\, lunch\, etc.)\nnetwork opportunities\njoint PR\nexhibitor listing in the catalogue\nmatchmaking meetings\nPR via SEAWORK media channels\nsupport and guidance from NMT\n\n*NMT can only offer the low participation fees if they can receive a SME Lounge subsidy from RVO. Unfortunately\, it’s not yet certain whether the subsidy will be granted\, as applications for 2024 are not possible yet. NMT will inform participants when there is more known about the subsidy. \nConvinced to join?\nMake sure to register before January 31\, 2024. \nAt least 10 companies are needed to organize the SME Lounge. A maximum of 15 companies can participate. \nMore information\nFor more information please contact Joëlla Lucas from NMT via lucs@maritimetechnology.nl or +31 88 445 1024. \nRegister\nTo register for the SME Lounge\, please complete the registration form here. \nSOURCE: www.maritimetechnology.nl \n

DESCRIPTION:Are you active in the offshore wind energy\, offshore solar energy and/or other offshore energy solutions? Would you like to know more about the opportunities in THE country with the largest offshore wind capacity in the world? Consider taking part in this trade mission offshore energy to China! \nDemand for more high-quality and innovative technology\nChinese developers are increasingly investing in high-quality and innovative technology. Since the end of 2021\, no national subsidies have been provided for the construction of offshore wind farms. Without national subsidies\, it’s difficult for developers and investors to make a profitable business case. Particularly based on the current estimates for capital expenditure and operational expenditure (CAPEX and OPEX). \nDue to the lack of subsidies\, it is important to develop projects more efficiently. This increases the demand for innovative technologies and solutions. Developers and research institutes look at different aspects\, e.g. development of energy islands\, the production of hydrogen with offshore wind energy and the development of demonstration projects for offshore solar energy. This provides the opportunity to test integrated offshore energy developments. \nOpportunities for Dutch companies\nKey opportunities in China’s offshore energy sector include: \n\nincreasing efficiency and reducing installation costs of offshore wind farms;\ncost reduction in management and maintenance;\nalternative foundation techniques\, such as suction pile foundations\, gravity-based foundations\, and floating solutions;\ninnovative solutions and designs for OEM wind turbine manufacturers in China;\ndemo projects with floating solar;\ncircularity if a point of attention in China. In the coming years\, China will dismantle thousands of outdated wind farms;\nthe scale of the Chinese market is suitable for innovating offshore wind applications\, e.g. integration of ecology and an aqua farm;\ncollaboration in the field of education and training.\n\nCheck the China Offshore Wind factsheet for Dutch companies here. \nFor whom?\nThis mission is organized for Dutch companies\, industry associations and knowledge institutions from the offshore energy sector. The mission is also interesting for those who are curious about the Chinese market and recent developments. \nWhy participate?\nChina is investing heavily in the energy transition. The Chinese government wants to further develop offshore projects in the coming decades. For example\, local governments in Jiangsu and Guangdong aim to realize more than 30GW of projects by 2030. In addition\, the northern provinces of Shangdong and Liaoning are also developing plans for offshore wind deployment. \n\nGain insight into the new opportunities for Dutch companies in the Chinese offshore wind market;\nGain insight in the possibilities for Dutch companies working in floating wind and floating solar;\nExpand your network with relevant parties to do business with; and\nExplore the opportunities to contribute\, and profit from\, the developments in the fast growing Chinese industry.\n\nProgram\nDuring the mission we will visit the most important locations for offshore energy development in China. SUMMARY:Inbound visit Occitanie (FR) to the Netherlands
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce the upcoming visit of the French delegation “Le Parlement de la Mer” from Occitanie to the Netherlands on October 1\, 2024. This event follows our successful trade mission to Occitanie in 2022 and the innovation mission in 2023. Le Parlement de la Mer represents different stakeholders that are involved in the future of the Mediterranean\, like fishery\, tourism\, municipalities\, wind power organisations\, ports etc.   \nOffshore wind Occitanie \nFrance considers the offshore energy sector as an important sector for European strategic autonomy\, cooperation should aim at maintaining the value chain in Europe (also for new innovative “floating” technologies). France has the ambition to become a world leader in floating wind farms and the Occitanie region is the area where most of the developments in this field are taking place. Two pre-commercial floating wind farms will be built in the next few years and the realisation of the first commercial project with a capacity of 250 megawatts should start in 2030. Port-la-Nouvelle\, located southwest of Montpellier\, is currently being developed as a dedicated port for the floating wind farms.  \nWind’OCC\, the cluster organisation for wind energy in the Occitan region\, is the catalyst for local offshore wind developments. This organisation is very open to European cooperation\, witness the MoU signed between Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE) and Wind’OCC\, in April 2022. \nFocus\nThe main themes of the mission are:  \n\nStakeholder management wind farms (e.g. fisheries\, tourism); \nSpatial planning; \nPublic acceptance; \nShared use of offshore wind farms (e.g. floating solar\, ecology enhancement); and\nStrengthening private & public collaboration between France and the Netherlands.\n\nProgram \nThe itinerary includes visits to Futureland\, Haliade X\, the pilot project of Touchwind at the Fieldlab Westvoorne and a visit to the TU Delft. There will be ample opportunities for networking\, and discussing potential partnerships. \nAgenda October 1\, 2024\n09:00 – 11:00 Visit to FutureLand: presentations from AD’OCC\, RVO\, Pondera and DeRijkeNoordzee\n11:00 – 12:15 Visit to TouchWind test site\n12:15 – 13:15 Networking lunch at FutureLand\n14:00 – 17:00 Visit TU Delft: presentations and visit to ESP and Wind AI lab\n17:00 – 18:00 Joint networking reception at the Echo Building \nIt’s possible to join either in the morning (09:00 – 13:15)\, including the networking lunch\, the afternoon (14:00 – 18:00)\, including the networking reception\, or the whole day.  \nFor whom? \nAnyone interested in the (floating) wind developments in Occitanie are encouraged to participate. The mission is small-scale with a maximum of 30 Dutch participating companies. We will take in consideration how your expertise matches the focus and purpose of this mission. You will receive final confirmation of your participation after the closing of the application period.  \nParticipation costs \nParticipation in the visit is free of charge\, but RSVP is required. \nMore information & registration\nIf you are interested to attend the visiting program\, please RSVP by selecting the correct ticket (morning\, afternoon or whole day ticket).\nIn case of any questions\, get in touch with us via events@hhwe.eu. \nOrganisation \nThe Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) is organising this mission\, in cooperation with Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE) and Netherlands Business Support Office (NBSO) in Nantes.
