SUMMARY:Symposium: New Energies – New Challenges: Re-inventing the Offshore Industry
DESCRIPTION:Offshore production of renewable energy is rapidly increasing with developments such as wind farms\, ocean current turbines and floating solar farms. More advancements are to come with for example offshore hydrogen production. These developments make use of experience from the existing offshore industry\, but also require innovations to overcome new challenges and ensure the new energy sources are cost competitive with other sources of energy. \nIn this symposium the current state of the offshore industry is sketched as well as the developments that are ongoing to produce new energies and challenges they bring. Technology to overcome these challenges is presented as well as examples of how offshore installation companies are adapting to meet the demand for new energies and climate goals. \nConfirmed speakers:\nMARIN – Bas Buchner\nRVO – Ruud de Bruijne\nSiemens Gamesa – David Molenaar\nOcean Grazer – Marijn van Rooij\nSolar Duck – Paula van Lieshout\nDeltares – Yorick Broekema\nTUDelft – Prof. Dr. Andrei Metrikine\nGBM Works – Marcelo Werneck\nBoskalis – Sander Steenbrink\nHeerema Marine Contractors – Ramon de Haas \nFurther information can be found here

SUMMARY:Netherlands Lounge at K.EY Energy in Rimini\, Italy
DESCRIPTION:From March 22 to 24\, the first edition of the energy transition and sustainable energy fair will take place in Rimini\, Italy: K.EY\, the Energy Transition Expo. \nK.EY offers an extensive platform for technology\, integrated solutions and services for the energy transition to a CO2 neutral economy\, focused on the themes of Wind Energy\, E-mobility\, Solar Energy\, Hydrogen and Sustainable City. K.EY used to be part of the large Green Technology Expo Ecomondo. Due to the big success of the energy component\, it has been decided to turn this into an independent fair. More than 20\,000 visitors and 350 exhibitors are expected to participate\, from Italy and abroad\, with more than 100 conferences\, workshops and networking events. \nNetherlands Lounge\nThe Dutch Embassy in Rome and the Consulate General in Milan\, with the support of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO)\, are organizing a Netherlands Lounge at the K.EY Energy\, which can accommodate up to 10 companies. The focus is on companies active in the Offshore wind and E-mobility sectors. The Lounge is located in the Wind Energy hall\, connecting to the E-mobility hall. In case of exceeding the number of available places\, a selection will be made of 10 companies\, based on sector and interdependence. \nMatchmaking with Italian partners is offered to the Lounge participants and also a Netherlands networking moment. \nParticipation costs\nParticipation fee is €300\,00. Travel and accommodation costs are at the participant’s own expense. \nMore information and registration\nWould you like to present your company at this exhibition? Please send an email to the Dutch embassy no later than February 20\, 2023 via rom-ea@minbuza.nl. They will send you a registration form and the conditions of participation. \nBackground\nAs the largest net recipient of the European Recovery Fund\, Italy will make significant investments in green transition and sustainable energy. The current gas crisis has further increased the urgency for more sustainable energy and electrification. Italy will invest heavily in (floating) offshore wind farms in the coming years. Many projects have already been presented. There are interesting opportunities here for innovative Dutch offshore wind and maritime companies. E-mobility is also an important theme in which Italy will invest heavily\, and in which the Netherlands is seen as an important leader.
