SUMMARY:Trade mission energy transition South Korea and Japan with Minister Schreinemacher
DESCRIPTION:Are you active in the energy transition\, e.g. offshore wind\, hydrogen\, battery technology\, electric mobility or greenhouse horticulture? Do you want to do business in South Korea and Japan? Consider joining the trade mission from March 13 to 17\, 2023\, with Liesje Schreinemacher\, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation. Ingrid Thijssen\, chairman of VNO-NCW\, acts as business mission leader. The mission is during the Interbattery and EV Trend exhibitions in Seoul\, and the World Smart Energy Week in Tokyo. \nFor whom?\nThis mission is especially interesting for companies and knowledge institutions that are active in the field of energy transition and that are doing business with South Korea and Japan. The focus is on the following sectors: \nSouth Korea \n\nHydrogen\nBattery technology\nGreenhouse horticulture\n\nJapan \n\nHydrogen\nOffshore Wind\n\nIn addition\, RVO particularly invites female entrepreneurs and start-ups to participate. \nOpportunities for the Netherlands\nSouth Korea is the 4th largest economy in Asia and the 10th largest int he world. The Japanese economy is the third largest in the world. Both countries offer many opportunities for Dutch entrepreneurs\, particularly in the field of innovation and technology. South Korea and Japan are important trade partners of the Netherlands in Asia\, respectively the third and fourth export markets in the region. \nEnergy transition\nThere are plenty of opportunities for Dutch companies and knowledge institutes in the field of energy transition. In South Korea\, this includes hydrogen\, battery technology including electric vehicles and greenhouse horticulture. There are identical opportunies in Japan\, but the mission will mainly focus on the opportunities in the field of hydrogen and offshore wind. In short\, 2 dynamic markets with serious plans for the energy transition and interested in international cooperation. \nDuring the mission you will discover where the business opportunities are in South Korea and Japan. The presence of Liesje Schreinemacher\, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation\, Ingrid Thijssen\, the chairman of VNO-NCW\, and high government officials offers you a unique opportunity to establish contacts at a high level. \nWhat to expect?\nThe mission program consists of joint and sector-specific components. Sector specific parts can take place simultaneously. RVO therefore asks participants to make a choice in advance for these components. In general the program consists of the following components: \n\nInformative seminar(s);\n(Sector-specific) company visits;\nNetworking events;\nTrade reception / dinner in South Korea and Japan;\nVisit to the Interbattery 2023 and EV Trend Korea;\nVisit to the World Smart Energy Week in Tokyo; and\nIndividual matchmaking (tailored network conversations).\n\nExhibition visits\nDuring the mission you will visit the Interbattery and/.or EV Trend exhibitions in Seoul\, and the World Smart Energy Week in Tokyo. \nInterbattery attracts around 50\,000 business visitors\, government officials and CEOs of Dutch and European companies based in South Korea. Individual matchmaking is offered per participating organization. Participation in this mission is only open to Dutch companies and knowledge institutions that fit within the above-mentioned set-up and substantive focus on this trade mission. Registration and the automatic confirmation of receipt therefore do not mean that you can automatically participate in the trade mission. You will receive a final confirmation of your participation after the registration period has closed. \nCOVID-19 clause\nThe organization decides 8 weeks in advance whether the trade mission will go ahead. This decision is based of the current travel advice from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs\, and based on the entry rules applicable in South Korea\, Japan and the local situation. The organization will immediately inform participants about this. In case of postponement or cancellation\, no fee will be charged to the participants. For the trip to South Korea and Japan\, participants have to prepare a number of things in advance. Please consult the travel advice for South Korea and Japan. \nEven after a decision to continue the mission\, the organization reserves the right to cancel the trade mission in the event of unforeseen circumstances. Of course the organization doesn’t charge participation costs in this case. \nParticipants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation. They must therefore cancel their travel and accommodation themselves if the mission does not take place. Any costs associated with this are for their own account. \nMore information\nFor more information about the mission\, please contact \nMargriet Veenstra\nprojectmanager missions\nmargriet.veenstra@rvo.nl \nHanneke Bogaerts\nProjectmanager missions\nhanneke.bogaerts@rvo.nl  \n  \n
