Thursday, February 15, 2024

BUNNIK, February 8, 2024 – In an era where sustainability is not just a choice but a necessity, Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE) marks a milestone, celebrating 12,5 years of pioneering the wind energy sector on a global scale. Since its inception, HHWE has developed from a small group of companies joining forces on international markets to an association that represents over 55 Dutch companies and knowledge institutes working in the wind industry, representing the entire wind power supply chain (knowledge institutes, contractors and technology suppliers). HHWE uses its solid business DNA to promote and support the development of wind energy in many emerging markets.

HHWE celebrated its anniversary party on February 8 in Bunnik with its members and invited guests. Reflecting on the journey, Wim Jenniskens, chairman of the board of HHWE, shared, “As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, it’s imperative to recognize that our strength lies in unity. The collaborative spirit of our members, coupled with support from the Dutch government and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), has been the cornerstone of our success. Together we are supporting the energy transition.

History

From its early days of forming an ad-hoc group to participate in China Wind Power in Beijing, HHWE has grown in reach and impact. The initiative, which initially focused on markets like China, Germany, and the US, has expanded its horizons to countries like Japan, Korea, Taiwan, France, Ireland, and more. This journey of growth has not only seen an increase in membership but also in activities – from just a few fairs and trade missions a year to 25+ annually, showcasing the association’s commitment to fully support its members.

Future

The future looks promising. The association continues to explore new territories like Australia, Greece, Italy, Sweden and Turkey, with a clear vision to support its members by opening doors to promising markets, identifying opportunities, and organizing pivotal activities. “It’s a marathon, not a sprint. Our journey of growth and expansion echoes the endurance and perseverance needed in the energy transition marathon. With our collective knowledge and expertise, we contribute to export and support the energy transition and sustainability by deploying our knowledge and skills on a global scale,” Jenniskens elaborated.
