Are you interested in the Swedish offshore wind market? Then join the Intake Mission Offshore Wind to Sweden from May 27 to 29, 2024. 

The Swedish offshore wind market, known for its open-door policy, has attracted a lot of interest from developers, with more than 20 projects announced so far. With an announced capacity exceeding 120 GW, Sweden’s market is primarily driven by developers. However, approximately 30% of these projects overlap, leading to competition for permits, site exclusivity, and grid connection.

The Swedish government is exploring the possibility of implementing a centralized system to replace the current open-door policy. In response to this, the Netherlands Embassy in Stockholm, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), and Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE) have joined forces to organize an intake mission.

Mission goal

The purpose of the intake mission is threefold:

1. Factfinding on the current Swedish offshore wind market (policy, market outlook & supply chain).
2. Exchange of know-how/expertise on policy and other relevant topics like ecology enhancement, spatial planning, multi-use of offshore wind farms, grid, power to X etc.
3. To demonstrate the reliability of the Dutch offshore wind supply chain as a valuable partner for Sweden.

For whom

This will be a small-scaled mission (5-7 companies). Therefore, we would only like to invite companies with a clear interest in the Swedish offshore wind market to register. Final participation depends on the number of places available. We also consider how well your expertise fits within the scope and purpose of the mission. Registration therefore does not mean that you will be admitted to the mission. You will receive a final confirmation of participation after registration has closed.

Draft program

The mission program is still under development. We try to take participants’ specific wishes into account as much as possible when determining the program.

Monday May 27th – evening

• Arrival at Stockholm Airport
• Informal dinner with the delegation

Tuesday May 28th

• Start of formal program with various visits in Stockholm focused on government stakeholders

Wednesday May 29th

• Various visits focused on private stakeholders. Evening return to the Netherlands

Costs

Participation in the intake mission is free of charge. Participants are responsible for covering the following expenses:

• travel and accommodation costs (intercontinental and domestic flights and hotels)
• all individual costs, such as lunches and dinners outside the programme
