Thursday, November 18, 2021

From November 16-18, the Floating Offshore Wind Turbines (FOWT) 2021 event took place in St Malo in France. This event is the most important conference in the world on floating offshore wind energy. In addition to the conference, there was also a small trade fair and there were technical visits organised on November 18th.

RVO/ICEP in collaboration with the NBSO Nantes and Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE) ensured that a large group of Dutch companies could participate in this event. There was also a Netherlands Lounge and a matchmaking side event that was organised by HHWE and the NBSO. Both large and smaller Dutch companies took part in the Netherlands Lounge. Amongst them Boskalis, Royal HaskoningDHV, MARIN, N-Sea, GustoMSC-NOV, Primo Marine, Damen Shipyards, CAPE Holland, FibreMax, TU Delft en KenzFigee.

France has big plans for the development of offshore wind to meet the French climate goals. Dutch companies can help France to realise these plans. An important pillar in these plans is floating offshore wind. Here too, Dutch companies can play a significant role.
