Innovation Mission Offshore Wind USA
22 October @ 08:00 - 25 October @ 17:00
Are you active in research and development in the field of offshore wind and are you interested in the U.S. offshore wind market? Consider joining the innovation mission offshore wind U.S. from October 22 to 25, 2024!
The U.S. has great ambitions when it comes to the development of offshore wind. President Biden has set a goal of developing 30GW of offshore wind by 2030 and a target of 110GW by 2050. This ambitions objective can’t be achieved without the technological developments needed to accelerate the construction of offshore wind farms and make them financially more attractive.
The Dutch industry and knowledge institutions can play an important role in the development of offshore wind in the US and, conversely, collaboration with U.S. knowledge institutes can also lead to new knowledge for the Dutch market. On behalf of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate, the Dutch Innovation Network in Boston carried out an analysis of the innovation ecosystem along the U.S. northeast coast. The report makes a number of concrete recommendations for Dutch companies and knowledge institutes that want to play a role in technological innovation and development in the U.S.
Objective mission
The objective of the mission is to explore how we can strenghten the cooperation in the field of research and development of offshore wind in the future by working together. The ultimate outcome of the mission is the development of a joint R&D agenda and R&D projects.
