The SEAWORK exhibition will take place in Southampton from June 11-13, 2024. Netherlands Maritime Technology (NMT) is organizing a collective participation with a SME Lounge for the first time at this event. Do you want to explore the market and the SEAWORK exhibition in an accessible way? Use NMT’s SME Lounge as your base and also enjoy extra promotion!

SEAWORK in Southampton is the maritime workboat show of the United Kingdom. This is the event that brings everyone from the UK – working in the workboat sector – together. Every year the show welcomes around 7,200 visitors from 60 countries all over the world. From shipping companies, owners, yards and suppliers.

The annual event takes place on the wharf of Mayflower Park. In addition to the company booths, there are also a number of work boats in the water. Seaworks also offers a highly regarded conference program and the European Commercial Marine Awards are presented here.

Opportunities in the United Kingdom

The UK, like the Netherlands, has a successful and established shipping industry. Currently, the UK’s successful shipping sector still produces too many greenhouse gasses and pollutants. Therefore the British government has heavily focussed on making shipping more sustainable in recent years. National action plans such as the ‘Clean Maritime Plan’ must ensure that the country achieves (inter)national climate goals. There are many opportunities in the UK maritime sector for Dutch companies, providing solutions around sustainable shipping and ‘smart ports’. The British government has recently invested heavily in both themes. In the UK, the energy transition stimules cleaner shipping. The developments also ensures more independently sailing ships, efficiency and safety. There are opportunities for companies that develop alternative fuels or make batteries for ships.

Maritime report United Kingdom

In March 2023, a market study of the maritime sector in the UK was carried out. This market research was commissioned by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and the Netherlands Business Support Office (NBSO) in Manchester. The report provides an overview of the British maritime sector, what the opportunities are and how you can react on these opportunities.

What is a SME Lounge?

After successful SME Lounges as ColombiaMar in Colombia, Seatrade Maritime & Logistics in Dubai and the Monaco Yacht Show, NMT is now going to SEAWORK with a SME Lounge.

The SME Lounge at SEAWORK has a total surface of 25sqm and will be shared with several Dutch companies. It serves as a base from which you can visit and discover the exhibition. You can retreat here to have a drink or something to eat. You can invite your relations here for a conversation/meeting, or share experiences with other Dutch people about doing business in the UK.

NMT ensures that participation is completely worry-free, for extra publicity and for extra networking opportunities.

Costs

NMT members          €1.250 + €600 co-exhibitor fee
Non NMT members  €1.750 + €600 co-exhibitor fee

Prices are excl. VAT and travel and accommodation costs.

Included in the price: 

• shared booth of 25sqm, including decoration
• catering during the day (coffee, soft drinks, lunch, etc.)
• network opportunities
• joint PR
• exhibitor listing in the catalogue
• matchmaking meetings
• PR via SEAWORK media channels
• support and guidance from NMT

*NMT can only offer the low participation fees if they can receive a SME Lounge subsidy from RVO. Unfortunately, it’s not yet certain whether the subsidy will be granted, as applications for 2024 are not possible yet. NMT will inform participants when there is more known about the subsidy.

At least 10 companies are needed to organize the SME Lounge. A maximum of 15 companies can participate.
