NL + US Offshore Wind K2K Roundtable
28 October @ 12:00 - 15:00
FreeNL + US Offshore Wind K2K Roundtable (Atlantic City)
By invitation only!
‘OW Transmission – Policy and Development’
The Netherlands Government, Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE) and US offshore wind are conducting a roundtable session and discussion on ‘OW Transmission – Policy and Development’, adjacent to the ACP Offshore Wind Conference in Atlantic City, Monday October 28th.
Committed keynotes:
– NJ Board of Public Utilities (BPU)
– PJM; and
– Dutch grid operator TenneT represented by trusted advisor DNV in the Netherlands.
Program
TenneT and PJM/NJ, respectively, represent a TSO-led and a developer-led offshore wind transmission development policy. Regarding TenneT, we’ll get to hear some of the details of the NL process, highlighting the roles of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO); and from PJM & BPU, a discussion of the RTEP, the State Agreement Approach and the competitive proposal windows. As a TSO, TenneT owns the HV grid in the Netherlands, whereas the utilities share ownership of the grid in the US. Against this backdrop, we’ll enjoy stimulating sub-topics of planned innovations for OW transmission. From TenneT, ‘standardized substations’ is indicative.
Planned attendees
Following the Roundtable, ad hoc discussion will ensue with invited participants – stakeholders, academia, industry – from the utilities to transmission investors, developers, and NL & US EPCI’s, consultants, researchers, supply chain; and NGO’s such as NOWRDC. The K2K sessions number 40 in attendance, on average. The event is by invitation only.
