Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, offshore wind developments in Japan are going strong. The first 1.7GW offshore fixed bottom wind farms are commissioned to the Mitsubishi consortium at international competitive tariffs. With the Japan Wind Power Association (JWPA) predicting 6GW of wind farms with fixed turbines and 4GW of floating wind farms which will be operational by 2030, the need for international expertise to realize these ambitions, is widely ackowledged in Japan, which offers enormous opportunities for Dutch offshore wind companies as well.
In Japan, the Netherlands is recognized as a reliable partner for offshore wind cooperation. Since 2014, Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE), supported by the Dutch government, has built up a widespread network within the Japanese offshore wind industry at many levels.

To further explore the opportunities for the Dutch wind sector and generate visibility within the Japanese wind sector, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Tokyo, Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE) and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) will set up a Netherlands Lounge at the Wind Expo Tokyo 2022 (WET), taking place from August 31 – September 2, 2022, in Tokyo, Japan.

Netherlands Lounge @ WET 2022

We will set up a Netherlands Lounge, in wich every participant will be introduced individually. The total floor area of the Netherlands Lounge will be between around the 48-60sqm and will accommodate up to 14 companies. See photos below for an impression of the Netherlands Lounge which was organized at the Wind Expo Tokyo in March 2022.

The following services are included:

• Fully equipped joint Netherlands booth with customized Netherlands branding;
• Own poster desk for each participating company;
• Exposure of company logo and corporate photos;
• Shared TV screen for PPT (max. 6 slides) or corporate movie (max. 1,5 min) in the Lounge;
• Host(ess)/support on site;
• Support in arranging individual meetings with Japanese stakeholders;
• Hotel recommendation;
• Participation in the side event (TBC);
• Drinks & snacks in the Lounge; and
• Joint promotion.

Recurring participants:    €1.650,00
Non-members:                €2.100,00

A minimum of 10 participants is required to continue with the Netherlands Lounge.
